+1, nice post

+1 to PaulyB, - well stated to the rampant elitism of our generation

silly question. Terminal 5 I see is used as a great music venue nowadays, and I have a LOT of fond memories there from the Exit days might I add. (RIP Exit)

With such a great space, how hard is it to move events there if other places are temporarily shutdown?

Bringing PvD, or Tiesto back to 610 W. 56th St. brings the shivers to me :D

Realistically, is such a move possible?

I don't know. I was talking to one of the security guys outside and I think I mentioned Pacha being shut down and he said that they were going to be closed down for a month. I asked why and he just said NYPD, so I didn't pry further.

I don't know when the last time you were there was, but both last night and for James Zabiela a few weeks ago, they made everyone empty their pockets going in and gave a pretty heavy pat down, when for years they had no security checks going in.
yeah - i hadn't been to cielo since who knows how long.. I think to see Ryan open for someone on a Tuesday night (eons ago)

I couldn't believe that I had to get patted down @ Zabiela. I didn't get cavity searched cuz I never bring a purse or anything but the guys line was looooong!

I adore Cielo - would hate to see anything bad happen to it!!!!!!!!!!

shutting down a club suppose to curb drug usage/violence or something? I dont see a point in closing an establishment for this since its just going occur somewhere else.

couldn't have said it better myself. It's like... when I spend a ton of cash and get VIP with bottles then they treat me nice. when i don't, they treat me regular. I mean, I'm a pretty funny guy and I don';t do drugs anymore, so bouncers are generally nice to me.

but i agree 100% with what u said about the royalty and piece of cattle. lol

Let the G heads stay in pacha and webster hall,

it already happened...i dunno wat happend back in nov with all the heat, but i know it was a night in dec i think christmas night or eve
when chris varagas was spinning, the party got shut down for someone g-ing out or someone selling, and thats what started the heat on them
cause if you remember they were closed for a week or 2 in jan and early feb and opened back up the night matt darey was there
ever since then, they have been doing hardcore searches at the door and haveing secuirty guards spy on people in bathroom stalls
i agree between what happened at love and now the heat on cielo
we just have to hope for the best and not let drugs into the club
PaulyB
You will never stop drugs in a club. By being strict at the door, you set a tone right from when you first step into the venue. Do not get caught doing anything out in the open, or in a bathroom, where everyone else in the club goes to do their stuff. It's all a mind game.

The shut downs = fines = revenue for the city.
Do you understand how much tax revenue + tourism the nightlife brings to the city? Times are tough and the government is a business as well. Do not forget that.

hopefully the future of nyc nightlife won't have to rely on private members only clubs, but then again it seems to work just fine here in boston...

Why the hell is Cielo closing down for a few weeks? How retarded. Sounds like NY looking for some extra cash, really really weak.
