| Nice one Tony. I don't think I've heard much of this. |

there shouldn't be an scoffing at antiloop. people that grew up in the 90's always found them cheesy but that's because they haven't heard more than the singles. it took a long while for me to realise this but they are so much more than 'in my mind', and 'in my mind' itself is a great track, the radio edit just made it a gimmick. they were great at making trance, epic trance, techno, breaks, drum & bass. progressive house and garage. even the early hardcore related stuff.
that being said, 'trespasser' is very much antiloop sounding like antiloop. |

Hmm... as much as I love elation station sometimes... it's not really what I'm interested in listening to when I'm downloading a full on mix... The second track is a great... second track, it doesn't really go anywhere good after that though (not that it's bad either) although I guess the idea of this wasn't about flow so fair enough. |
If I'm making a tribute mix to my favorite tracks, I had to include Elation Station simply because it was the first psy track I ever heard.
| quote: | | Some good tracks, I'd heard 1/3 or so of them before though, and the natural vibes track... I think I've definitely heard too many times. There seems to be lots of psy like that, I dunno what system j was on about :P |
Yeah, but I love Natural Vibes because it's unique. Most full-on is just warpy acid sounds and don't sound anything like Natural Vibes. Any suggestions you might consider close?
| quote: | | and the brainshwash track... was fairly reasonable... but there's similar stuff that's either lighter dark or dark/full on but with a bit more energy. I certainly wouldn't call it the most energetic full on track ever. |
I posted a thread on psynews and nobody was able to come within a stones throw of the energy that I was looking for. Maybe we just feel the music differently.
| quote: | | A fairly decent mix. The last track is absolutely great though, now that's top 10 worthy (as is poisen) |
Epic indeed. Thanks for listening, even if you didn't really care for it :p |

| Brilliant selection Tony, as we discussed earlier. For the most part mixing is pretty spot on and some funny yet surprisingly well working transitions. All'n'all a very good showcase of classics according to montana showing your wide ranging taste in music. A couple of them I considered using myself but left out in the end. |

They are indeed far more diverse than people give them credit for - they even made a hip hop track with Timbuktu. |

Really enjoyed this Tony, some great tracks in there. From the track list, I thought I didn't know a few of them, but I was surprised that I did the whole "Oh, this song!" (despite having not heard them for YEARS).
Dust Brothers remix of Voodoo People is so goooood.
I'm not into hiphop/RnB, but the JayZ track was awesome in there. I don't think I've heard it since I was 18 or 19? Somewhere around then.
Not a fan of the Kylie remix in there though, I never liked that track at all. To each their own though!
Great to hear King of Snake again, wicked track.
Sorry for the disjointed review, I was typing bits and pieces while listening, and I'm a ty typer :p
Thanks for the musics :) |
