No way. I know TA, and I don't want a thread full of 1999's most obvious epic trance, over and over.
Anyway... |
totally agree. There is nothing more tiresome. Also a reason why I download so few mixes from the DJ Promotion section. |

I think the fact that no one knows who the you are would be a more significant hurdle. |
Magnetonium is a long-time poster who has made many informative posts in MD and some very nice classic trance mixes, actually. You are just too new here to have seen him much I guess.

Equally bad would be continuous "Deep sexy funky moody soulful techy flashy sunshiny tinky winky dipsy lala po House"-wankery imho, which is also pretty widespread here. :p |

:haha:
I am so sick of hearing that stuff. Even Eurodance is preferable to me right now. |

Oh wow, I was really surprised to read this but then I remember that Phil (magnetonium) was missing in action for a while and that may have started about when you registered. Anyway, he shared two sets here a couple of months ago, one was an ambient trance set and the other an underground disco mix. Both sets were mint.
J1, this August classics set is just wowowowowow. I think almost half of the tracks that you chose are in my favorites folder. I love the way you put this together; it just has a great flow, a great feel to it. |

Most people assume that most classic trance mixes are just going to be full of the same , which is unfortunate since some are actually pretty damn good. My mixes I would consider classic but I don't label them as such just to avoid people thinking it's just going to be airwave -> 1998 - > Gouryella -> Greece 2000 -> Out of the blue -> AIRWAVE.
Unfortunately most classic mixes are such which is why I rarely download them.
I completely agree System J should chose the people who make them. If it was just a sign up this thing would collapse in two months after hearing every single dumbs idea of the next great classic mix.
I just hope that he will actually chose a few people to throw in some classic mixes - people who are actually good at them, not the average morons.

I really love the mix. Not too much of a fan of ambient myself unless I'm trying to just relax or fall asleep, but I loved the flow of the entire thing and the way you were able to move throughout the mix from the beginning until the end.
Top notch mix!
Looking forward to the next in the series! |

Thanks for backing me up!!! You can tell now why I dont post much in MD or PDD anymore (some people's attitudes). Yes, in 2006-2007 I got into a serious college program that I am done now, graduated with honours. Trying to find a career. I feel bad for disappearing, I am not much of an online persona, plus I lost passwords for couple of the other websites I was a member of ... But I am back now, mostly mixes forum.
Anyways, we'll see how this Game goes, I'm looking through some tracks when I am not busy, I have a plan for a unique mix! I was inspired by this Game idea. |

Jupiterone, I'm only at 18 minutes, and this set has been nothing but perfect. I'm at 48 minutes and the energy level has been excellent, the tracks are so soothing and have all kinds of interesting arrangements as far as drums, string progression, sound effects, even vocals. You have a very pure flow with your tracks, the programming has been outstanding. 53 minutes, and this track is great! ing awesome riff, I love it. 66 minutes, mint track! The end of this set was amazing, almost like some goa trance! :eyespop: You won my heart over with this mix, it was amazing. I loved it, congrats for having the first classics compilation, it's setting the bar for the rest of us! :p
Great idea Jack, hope every month is like this! :) |

jupiterone, this mix was awesome, I think I liked it even more than Stardust. I was really surprised that you were able to move so smoothly from the ambient at the beginning to the pumping at the end. The mixing and selection were pretty much flawless. Did you do this on your Lemur, you lucky bastard? |
yes sir. lemur + reaktor + xone |

this mix managed to sound much bigger than just an mp3 file.(i don't know if that will make sense to anyone else) it wsa very atmospheric and usually when i hear new tunes on a mix there's at least one i'm not keen on. liked every track on this mix.
very impressed. |
