these amounts of people die everyday in afrika, u dont see that on the news. |
And it's a shame too, because something could probably be done about it if there was better advocacy for many of the issues that impact the continent. Malaria, in particular, but also conflicts and HIV/AIDS. |

| remember being a sophomore in high school and it happened during french class. Just remember that our principal did an announcement saying that two planes just hit the towers and if anyone had family members in the NYC area to report immediately to the office to call home. I think they turned that day into a half a day b/c i semi remember being home watching it on the news early afternoon. Biggest thing I remembered is just thinking of how surreal it was. It really didn't hit me until I actually saw it on tv. I also remember mad idiotic kids in school just spouting random about who possibly did it and pointing the finger. |

just because it's not on the news, doesn't mean those people in africa don't think about what happened and remember/respect it. |

I think you missed his point.
Anyways. I was on my 3rd day of public school in France. Had just come home from class and it all unfolded. The next day of school was very bizarre. |

honestly, i prefer that we DONT remember it and just move one. the terrorists want us to remember and we're idiots for giving them what they want.
i was just explaining why people still remember it though. it was a pretty traumatic experience for americans...we've always been so sheltered and protected. we're not like the iraleis and palestinians getting bombed on a monthly basis. it was new to us and tramatizing.
but like i said, i DO agree that we shouldn't make such a huge deal about it but the victims and people involved would be all offended. they need their day or whatever. |

| I was home sick from school that day and I was watching the news that morning. They started showing how the first tower had been hit, at that point they thought it was just an accident. While they were showing live feed of the first tower burning the second plane hit. It was really intense watching that happen and hearing all the reporters just go silent. |

| Yea I also thought it was an accident until I saw that second coming in live. That was something I'll never forget. |

How could we not remember something like this Jamie? It was a dark day.
I knew this guy that got a call from his friend and the girl was on one of the planes and she called my friend and told him what was going on and then he heard a loud sound and the call dropped. I think the girl was on the second plane. He was freaking the out when it happened. |

no we're talking about making the big deal with it in the media. not just "not remembering it". although in order to move on, you have to sort of forget. i dunno to me those 2 go hand in hand. same thing with forgiving and forgetting. you can't forgive and not forget. defeats the whole purpose. |

| I also think it's crazy the footage that was shot that day of the people in the buildings jumping off. |
