| Holy I was 8 (16 now) and doing nothing at home. Just remembered my mom and dad watching the TV and didn't realize the impact the event had on the world. |

In my dreams I'm dying all the time
As I wake its kaleidoscopic mind ...
So this is goodbye
This is goodbye

I was at uni in a snooker hall, well specifically just turned up (skipping maths again...) then a mate who was in already with some other lads said "some nutter flew a plane into one of the twin towers" when was going to take a shot, paused a second then went "aye f**king right" kept playing a bit then went up for some chalk or something then the girl behind the desk thing was watching the news then saw it wasn't BS. Stood about a bit watching then went back to the snooker I think.
I remember the 7/7 attacks too, lived in Edinburgh at the time, one of my flatmates was Israeli so when I told him about it he just said "how many died?" "roughly 50" he just shrugged and said "it's not so bad" then went out (always helped me understand their position a bit that one).
But yeah was surreal, never realised till years later the true gravity of it. Was just news stories and updates. 3,000+ people in one day, in a horrible way. No wonder we changed so much. |

| When it happened I didn't give a , but I was too immature to understand the gravity of the situation. |

i was having pre-birthday drinks at home on the tuesday evening when suddenly all channels switched to US live coverage. im like "well, looks like osama has been busy during the off season". then i thought of my honours room mate who was halfway through his thesis of "islamic terrorism is greatly exaggerated" and had to chuckle. somebody was in for a massive re-write!
then i watched the coverage for the next 3 hours or so, waiting for someone to take ownership of the attacks and see if i was right about osama.
little did i know at this stage that 911 would come to symbolise my hatred for abject stupidity. |

You see, before 9/11, terrorist would always detonate a dustbin full of explosive, whereas we can always blame it on a Saudi now.
So, all other things being equal, I'd rather be looking for Bin Laden than for so many laden bins :p |

| You know what? I distinctly remember Frenchie saying that she'd lost a couple of people close to her in the attack. An uncle and aunt or something like that... |
