It's actually quite easy, just deduct 8 years from your current age and you'll get how old you were. Cool huh? :) |

Oddly enough, I was in Byron Bay at the time (which is where I was yesterday/am now). I'd just returned from nearly 3 years backpacking, and was staying in a hostel. I got up that morning and everyone was just standing around the TVs, staring. I kinda saw what was on the screens, and just brushed it off as a movie with fancy CGI effects. Oops. I finally asked wtf was going on when I saw some Americans I knew all crying.
Weirdly, the hostel I was staying at back then was built by my (now) fiance's parents, and was where she grew up :wtf: |

I was staying there in 2001. I met my fiance in 2003, in Brisbane (not Byron Bay).
Good enough for you now? :p |

| Some of you are some cold mother******s who didn't deserve to be born in a 1st world country. Shame on you... maybe someday you will learn some concept of honor and duty, but I'm not keeping my hopes up. |

23 - 8 = 15
:haha:
I was grounded, stuck at home writing a paper. The news was on television and I wasn't allowed to watch tv when grounded but I remember feeling a bit stunned at what was going on. |

I was in 6th grade (11 years old) and in Science/Math class. We had a substitute teacher. Another teacher came in several minutes after this first plane hit and whispered something into her ear. She left, and didn't come back. Turns out her son worked in one of the buildings. Never heard whether he made it or not :(
Didn't actually fully realize what happened (being in 6th grade, naivety , etc) I thought it was a small plane. Saw the broadcast images in art class where there was a TV. These events really do get burned into your mind... |
