Not sure what kind of wood the floor is, actually. I know it's original flooring, so it's almost 100 years old. It also has this very unique looking grain on it. I gotta find out what the floor is, good question heh.
Renzo, the cocaine & strippers are in the attic. I don't leave that out man. |

That Craftsman style is VERY LA actually :p Most of the older homes (this was build in 1928) are like that in Hollywood, Pasadena, and surrounding areas. |
It's really cool looking, I like it. The outside is similar looking to the 'Queenslander' style of house we have over here, which I also like a lot. |

If the house was that old in chicago I would say its oak, but im not sure what they used back then in your neck of the woods. Either way being the orginal floor in a house that old is a great thing for resale. fact.. they dont make them like they used to. |

Congrats... and welcome to the club, I just bought my first house as well. It's nowhere as cool as LA, though. |
congrats guys.

Right, but most of the population is LA or south, in the SF Bay area, or in Sacramento. Which of course, finding a house that fit in FHA guidelines for a long time was pretty much impossible. Unless you got a piece of .
We did have people getting worse loans than that though. Ever heard of a balloon loan? |
is that the same thing as a term loan? where you pay interest only or something and then pay the rest later in one payment?
*edit*

I almost thought I was gonna have to... couldn't get that to come on. Kept checking the breaker at the box, the outside breaker, replaced the thermostat... no dice. Luckily, there was a fuse on the blower itself that just needed screwed in further, lol.
I don't really have any pics of my place (wish I had before and after shots, it looked pretty skanky initially, but the g/f and I did a load of work before moving in... it was a foreclosure), other than this one. This is from Saturday, I had just finished installing this railing (about 30 minutes before we were having a party). I know I'm just asking for someone to make fun of the flag, but oh well. :)

4 bedroom, attic converted into a loft, full basement (building my studio down there), hardwood flooring throughout, new kitchen, 6 car garage... 95k. Not too shabby at all. |

You need to go on some DIY Network shows, perhaps Kitchen Renovation, or Bathroom Renovation...or perhaps Renovation realities. |

Different name, but yes exactly the concept. Basically you get a smaller payment for a period of time, and then at the end of that period you have a "balloon" payment. It can also be paired with other loan types, but they are a huge mistake to bother with. |
