david, if you hang some plants in the corners it will kill the reverb a bit. Nothing major, but you will be able to tell a difference.
also: as much as i hate infomercials, that steam mop is a godsend for cleaning hardwood. |

Yeah. Just into four digits is a lot to pay for a vacuum, though.
To be fair, it was also a shampooer, etc. as well. |
It sounds like a lot when you think about going and buying a $250 vacuum that will last 3-5 years. Then remember that they have to buy who knows how many of them. You bought 1 that will last your entire life. And not to mention, did they tell you about the rebuild thing? |

Thanks for the tip, will keep that in mind. We do have a large plant/tree in one corner, I'll query the boss and see how she feels about adding more.
I'm nervous about the steam mop. Sounds like it would be amazing, but after spending a few grand to have the floors refinished, I'm afraid to use anything on them. (For example, I was told not to use Orange Glo, oils, etc. because of "the type of wood".) |

Plants are so good for the air too. Dunno why more people don't have 'em in their homes. |

Oh, I understand that, which is why I went ahead with it. We have several pets that all shed a lot, and at the time, it was a very small house with quite a bit of traffic. Seeing the difference between it and our old vacuum was like night and day. It was especially worth it to us, having the baby in the house, crawling all over the floor.
It's just a bit of a bummer now, because fast forward a year and we're in a house with entirely hardwood floors. :stongue: Our upstairs bedroom/loft area is the only place that's carpeted now.
edit: No, not sure what you mean on the rebuild thing. |

I really enjoy having them... they're almost therapeutic. I always have a plant or two in my studio room, helps me feel a little more inspired. |

the hardwood i have is old, and the steam cleaner keeps it dry without putting any product on it. I could be wrong, but i believe that warping is only something you need to worry about if you expose the wood to water for a longer period.
The other half of our condo is "floating floor" or plancher flottant in french (i hope that what it is called in english lol...it is click together "wood" segments). The steam mop makes cleaning the place a breeze, which is good considering i have more cats than a chinese restaurant. |

| They are most definitely therapeutic. They filter the air and provide moisture...those benefits alone can't be denied. |

not to mention that i find that plants make a room have a cozier feel to it. You can have the plainest decor in the world imo, and if you put in a few plants it instantly improves the room. |

| Yes agreed. Well I mean you're adding life, literally, to the room. Really changes the vibe for the better. |

Unless something has changed from when I made an attempt to sell these things, there is a lifetime rebuild they will do for 10% of the current going rate. Which usually comes out to $175. So if in 15 years the thing is running like , they will basically refurb it to a unit that is 1 generation old. Also, did you already register the vacuum? If not, register it in the kids name. Makes the "life" longer. They won't rebuild a vacuum for someone that it is not registered to. :)

This is HORRIBLY bad. My sister was in the industry and my brother in-law is in the industry. This is really bad. Totally ruins the floors.
edit//word for word what my sister said: "It will ruin the finish and buckle the floor. It can be cleaned with a swiffer or a regular mop or hands and knees. It must dry within 15 minutes. I use a fan after I'm done mopping." |
