Totally agree. A lot of people forget that the EDM scene would be significantly smaller if not for the drugs (including alcohol). If all the drugs were removed from the planet and people did not know how to make more, massives would shrink by at least half immediately. Yeah, it sometimes sucks to see a group of dehydrated 14 year olds bombed out of their minds, but their money is allowing all of us to get many of the world's top DJs together at one venue and gives those DJs the money to produce more great music.

The times when I get the most annoyed at people during an EDM event is when drunk people get rowdy.

Anyone know the answer to this?

I'm sure it won't be a problem. Over 10,000 the last time Giant was at the Bon. Rooms never got too crowded.

I think his question was dealing more with the issue of Giant patrons who are friends of hotel guests being allowed to visit friends in hotel rooms (for pre-party preparation or post-party relaxation).

A previous post in this thread made it sound like only those people with hotel room bracelets will be allowed into the hotel rooms.

If I have a hotel room (and a bracelet) and a friend (without a bracelet) would like to chill for an hour before driving home in my room, will that be ok?

Don't take this as authoritative, but when I was staying there for either Giant event (night of 2004 and night of 2006) they gave us wristbands for our rooms and made us sign anti-party waivers.
As a SPG Platinum, I complained to Starwood corporate, and they told me for special events like this, too bad. (I'd bet the hotels near Times Square in Manhattan probably have similar policies)

I'd assume that they could not unless they got there _really_ early. (the morning before, and didn't need to pass through security again)

hey guys, don't take this personal. But I don't party til 6am anymore. And it would be pretty annoying (disrespectful) to hear a crowd full of people making a ruckus nextdoor, especially if i'm paying 2 bills a night for a room i plan to sleep in. This is why i would be anti afterparty in a room like the bonaventure. heck i'm sure you all can get a shady sands motel nearby and do whatever you want. For those that are gonna invite friends and keep it quite, this does not apply.

Few questions, how tight are security checking ID? im only 20 and dont turn 21 until jan 6 (sucks) and all my friends are 21 already. might wanna head to this instead of TAO because its a better lineup. also whats the dresscode? is it like a club or casual? can u smoke? and glowsticks?:D :D

Sure ruin the fun for the rest of us 'cause someone won't just put earplugs in and let the rest of the world enjoy their NYE.:o

The last Giant NYE (tiesto NYE) i went to did check ID. I'm sure it will be the same for this. sucks to be so shy from 21. That happened to me in Orlando years ago, but I got someone to get me in.

dress code is almost whatever, haven't seen them enforce anything, and i've seen some pretty busted outfits, sandals to NYE? come on . so club, casual, as well as sticks if thats your feel. :) Not sure about the smoke though.

the Bonaventure's website says it's a smoke-free facility, so I'm guessing you won't be allowed to, but.... it's that way inside at most events, and people do anyway.

I really wouldn’t worry about being bothered by people partying in to the early morning. The Bonaventure is a hotel that from what I’ve experienced in the past really have there act together. If there is a room that is being extremely loud I would feel free to contact the front desk to address the issue, but keep in mind that it is New Years Eve and you are attending an event that is associated with people that take partying to the next level.

All Westin properties are smoke-free.

So, don't let them catch you indoors.
