I haven't heard this. I would be very surprised if it is true, but I doubt it. Where did you hear this?

Maybe Taj can weigh in.

Was just thinking...this thread has almost 5,000 views already and that's how many tix are going to be sold for Giant NYE...I think it may sell out quickly once the lineup is sorted out...

Maybe Kaskade could use his new press photo for the TAO flyer?

Ryan's stock is high right now. i would think more people would buy tickets to this event due to him than above and beyond. i doubt all 5000 in attendance will be A&B fans.

Being able to call his shots and say no thanks to giant and bounce right back on his feet at other venues shows why he pulled out...because he can! :-)

I hear you. Of course everyone in attendance will have their own favorite DJ they look forward to seeing, and Kaskade will pull his own share of the crowd.(although I highly doubt he would draw more than A&B)

I think what people are questioning is the reason for his pulling out, not the action itself. You have to admit that his drama over the billing is pretty amusing, given that their respective rank in the DJ list.(not to say that I put a lot of stock into the rankings in general) If it was due to musical/creative differences, then that seems more respectable than crying over whose name is higher on the fliers. According to the rumor, he(#51) wanted to be billed higher than A&B(#4), which to me, ranking or not, seems unreasonable. If anything, being listed on the same level seems generous, IMHO.

I hope the rumor for his reason for ditching Giant Hotel isn't true and that there were other things going on in the background. I would prefer for EDM parties to be successful to promote the music and having Kaskade there would have only helped Giant Hotel. Hopefully they can bring someone else in to make up for this loss.

Btw, just discovering the term, "mantrum", itself makes this thread worthwhile. :D

Also, maybe Jono, Tony and Paavo will be joining us in LA? :D

p.s. Make sure to get a good pilot for that private jet, mates...no NYE drinking and flying!

Edit: Just noticed that 1015 is serving food at 7 am...all things are possible after all! :)

They will be getting from LA to SF via a private charter jet. That's how. :)

Yes, see my note above for more on that. :) I all three are going to be spinning in LA, then I have the perfect shirt to wear for this night. ;)

has Above and beyond played vanguard recently? if so did they pack it the way guetta, benassi and Kaskade have in the past few months?

A&B closed EDC 2008 to a completely packed floor, I believe it was 65,000 people. I don't believe they've been to a club In LA since then, but I also saw them at Nocturnal and it was jam packed also. No doubt they will do it again NYE, they are among the best of the best! :D
