+1
dropped a few things out my cart using this method, when it was evident that beatport had picked 2mins bdown of stellar excellence, in a 8 minute dud. |

| Assuming that you buy tracks for DJing...if a track has "2 minutes of stellar excellence", why not play those two minutes? |

I love the logistics being prescribed here. For example, TA pundits recommend going to Beatport, hearing a sample, then opening another browser to go to Youtube and type in the songs name and see how it sounds. Going to Beatport finding another sample, and then going to Youtube again hoping the song is there again. O wait, its not there, its a new release, and hasnt been whored to YOutube yet. And why would anyone want to do the commute between the two sites, and wait for Youtube's load times? Might as well try to bone a wine glass.
Lets eventually get 3 or 4 minute BP samples going and be done with it. There is more reason to have longer samples than there are to not have them. Its almost disrespectful to not only the labels and artists, but to the consumers to have to buy music based off this little 2 minute sample, of a 7 up to 12 or more minute track. |

2 minutes is plenty of time man! Granted, I think it should be a different 2 mins as well...maybe intro/mid/outro. Thing I can't stand is purchasing a track that FADES OUT AT THE END...ing s  |

I've mentioned a solution to this problem already. Have you even looked at it? |

Yes. Your out of touch solution has nothing to do with Beatport, or the interests of artists and labels who have music on there, or the DJs that shop there. |

| Free market is not a solution then? |

Obviously not when Beatport gets the exclusives it gets. You do realise that a majority of DJs and their minions go through Beatport to get their music. Which is why its important for Beatport to offer long enough samples so that people have a bit more taste before they make their choice. And my solution offering 2 mins as defaults and 1 and 3 mins as options would work out for all parties involved. |

Funny, because most people I know have converted from Beatport to that website. :stongue: |

Assuming i can find enough tracks to play that i like all 8 mins of, there's not much point in buying the half-good ones.
I'd love BP samples to be longer too; but there are other digital sites, and other ways to check tracks full length than pointlessly complaining about it on some forum. |
