You often recur to faux intellectuallism and like to tell people that they are idiots by telling them to go back and read the thread using big words and phrases like "neglecting to comprehend", which I find very ironic in itself, seeing how you should take your own advice.

First of all, nobody told you to go to another site. It was just a suggestion that idoru through out there based on his personal tune-shopping habits. A suggestion that Mark Anthony, myself, and others agreed with because it happens to be in line with our own habits as well.

So, your solution is to have 3 different samples of 3 different lengths? I'm not really sure of the logistics of that, but I think that would require even MORE storage space, as they would need to have 3 different samples per track, totalling 6 minutes. Might as well just provide a sample for the whole track.

DJDownload and whatpeopleplay have a similar system to what you are suggesting and it allows users to "drop the needle" anywhere they want on the track and get a one minute sample. If you want to listen to another minute, you just click on another part of the track. It's possible to sample the whole track this way. Now this would take care of the need for having 3 samples of different lengths issue I mentioned above, but as far as storage is concerned it would still increase the space by 50% of what they already have. Other stores are able to get away with this sort of system because their catalog isn't anywhere near the size of Beatport's.

Probably isn't much of an argument, is it?

So now you're completely backing away from an idea you agreed with, even though you've been carrying the ideas flag for a few pages. And then you're redefining it as a "suggestion" lol. For this discussion what is the difference between an idea and a suggestion? Why so lame?

And I dont get why you care about the costs so much, if there are tons of sites doing full samples or longer samples. BP might have more music, but who listens to every sample out there? And the storage costs is an investment towards revenue and profits. Longer samples would have their benefits you know? Imagine how many people walk away from a sample because it stops in the wrong place, and then the consumer gets iffy about buying it, even though the track sounded good? If they got to hear more if it, they likely would have bought it. Woscar its obvious your hater of the industry as a whole, because at every turn you try to find a way to undermine everything about it, while licking some serious ass where you can(thinking that makes up for it). LOL

Go to bed, Kismet.

When did I back away? Again, take your own advice and go through this thread. Read it. Comprehend it. Reply. In that specific order, please. I just said I agree with idoru one post above yours.

It goes something like this: OMG! New Dennis Ferrer track!!!!!1!!!!, idoru comments on what someone said in the video,

Kismet demands BP to put longer samples, idoru suggests using whatpeopleplay, others agree. Kismet disagrees, others explain,

It's not an idea you know? idoru didn't just think of it while reading your posts. This is a common practice for most of us already. You're not that innovative.

I'm not caring about costs, just giving you potential reasons why what you are asking has not been implemented yet. I could be wrong, for all I know they just don't give a and are laughing all the way to the bank. However, businesses in the real world do operate on minimizing expenses and maximizing profits and implementing what you are suggesting will incur on higher operational expenses with no reason to believe that their profits will be significantly increased. What I don't understand is why you write the financial aspects without any analysis outside of "they probably have the sweetest deals of any distributor".

Another thing that is getting old is your calling everyone that doesn't agree with you a "hater of the industry". While I don't agree with every aspect of an industry that worships untalented deejays and producers that make and play music that appeals to the lowest common denominator and makes them rich while other truly gifted, hard-working producers and deejays struggle to make ends meet I do love some of the music. Otherwise, I wouldn't be here reading and discussing music, new releases, mixing techniques, and other things. Whether you like it or not, I will voice my opinion on the topics that arise in this forum. If it annoys you that much, use the ignore option already.

I forget who was even making which point. This thread has officially de-railed

Woscar first you join in on a suggestion/idea...then you turn around and say "Idoru thought it up, I just agreed." Then you give some bs "costs will go up", without realising business take on costs, for the growth and benefit of business. You and your buddies seem to be trolls of EDM industry, I have yet to see anything else from you. Posting a mix once in a while and licking ass here and there does not count. I cant think of any logical, psychological, or social reasoning for the way you behave or think.

And your description of what happened in this thread, is just another example of your incompetence. You havent helped your case from the start, and alread proved my idea to be right a few pages back, at this point your damage controlling your idiocacy.

I'm giving valid and probable reasons, you're just saying "it's bs". Like I said, I could be wrong. I'm able to acknowledge it because I don't have an "internet God-complex" or am addicted to making everyone agree with me.

Yes, everyone who does not agree with you, Dave Dresden or whatever new mildly famous producer rears it's head in the forums, or the latest noob is a troll.

Using big words is only impressive when what you are saying makes sense.

Actually, it was an example of your incompetence. Do you realize it? No, of course you don't realize it. You are still trying to figure out what the airplanes mean.

Stop beating a dead horse, I already said that your idea is not a bad one but gave you arguments as to why it's not likely to see the light of day in the near future. Somehow, your pathological need to always be right and prove someone wrong even when there's nothing to prove keeps you posting and posting and posting. At this point you are only making yourself look like a bigger idiot. Do yourself a favor and stop.

Now let's go back on topic and talk about this fella, shall we?

The track is not horrible, but as someone else mentioned it's not worth the praise and hype in the video. I'm sure it will be a huge hit in clubs all over the world and it will sell like a motherfucker. However, that doesn't mean it's good.

Anyways, "Sinfonia Della Notte" s all over this.

Kismet7
In typical Woscar fashion, your head is completely fastened up your ass. You cant even stand behind what you've said already. And you've had to resort to pictures, because you cant make any notable sense through words. And nice job at comparing apples and oranges, by the same artist both pieces are by? ::sigh::

Your idea that things should stay the way they are, and people should use Youtube and other sites for longer samples (which does not help Beatport or its partners), is not helpful to anyone.

Here is a better sample of 'Hey Hey'

it, you earned it.

Yet you have completely failed to comprehend that I (or anyone else, for that matter) am not trying to prove you wrong, just stating why it's an improbable scenario. Quite frankly, in my 15 or so years of internet navigation I had never come across anyone this thick. Shut the up already. Isn't it ironic how you're the one that is trolling this thread now?

Edit: And you still haven't figured out what the planes mean, do you?
