It seems hardly anyone comes on here asking how to make a supersaw anymore. Maybe the sound has finally died?

I wasn't insulting you, just asking how anyone can be so ignorant when they've been on here over two years. In future I won't leave any advice for you.

Also, I think you'll find its spelt "" not fvck.

Well my apologies then, I clearly took it as an insult but if it wasnt intended like that my bad. Please feel free to leave advice in the future..

They are absolute work horses and so powerful man. Please, trust me, get a Virus TI. Get a snow or get a used desktop on ebay . They both go for around $1000. Check novamusik.com for a good snow price I believe they have a B stock of the snow for $999 but it may have been bought by now. I would advise you to get the desktop but the Snow is fine as well. It just depends on how hands on you are wanting to get. The snow is fairly hands on but the desktop is full blown hands on. With the Snow you can assign value parameters to three main things that you like plus still switch through the pages of editing for the respective menu you're on. The menu diving is the best it could be, and you get that even with the desktop. The desktop offers better things like hands on envelopes, effects, lfos, etc. With a snow you would have to assign what you want to edit to each value knob or control it with Virus Control (WHICH IS AMAZING) - Virus Control is a program that allows the Virus to behave like a VST. The virus TI and the VST plug work side-by-side. You can sit there and edit a patch using Virus Control AND the hands on parameter knobs at the same time! Virus Control also offers GREAT functionality for presets and you can easily grab over 10,000 presets. (I can send you them) - Trust me. We have chatted and I know what you like and with you lacking experience with hardware the Virus could not be a better machine to buy. Not only is it better than a Nord2X but it's going to be a much, much better first-buy hardware piece for you. Instead of having to fool around with an audio interface, delays, routing, more difficult part splitting, etc. With the Virus you simply plug it into a USB slot and BAM. With the Nord you'll need an audio interface with analog inputs, some TRS cables, and will have to learn the intricacies of routing with hardware (it can be very frustrating at times) - Now what I just listed before are things you need to learn about, but that can come at a later date.

Trust me. GET A VIRUS!!!!!

Thanks a lot bro I really appreciate it.

And for the guy who said (in reference to wileys post) "why are you recommending a virus when he wants a nord". I stated in the post that I had been going back and forth between these 2 for the last 4 years.
The real ultimate reason I decided on the Nord 2 was its $400 cheaper then the snow.
In all honesty I've always wanted the virus but people have always said its the LAST synth theyd recommend for a newbie because its a mfkr to program.
But stephen is actually saying he would recommend it for a newbie.

Whatever the case.

I BOUGHT THE SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol, I'm actually extremely happy I made this thread cause when I first got into hardware (reading and listening to demos) the indigo always use to blow my mind, so I technically have a hardon for virus sounds over nord. I do still appreciate the bass capabilities the nord has. But all in all, I have NEVER been this excited in my life over anything.
I really don't remember getting this excited first time I got laid to be honest, and the total integration really is going to come into use.
I barely slept a minute last night just thinking about the virus being on his way to my house lol. And more then anything, it really is a bug like one guy in here said. I AM NOT going to lose this bug unless I finally get some hardware, its only getting worse at time goes by so I figure this is an essential move on my part.

Gonna be reformatting my pc and getting everything nice and clean for the virus. I will prob be back to bump this thread every 30 secs cause I'm too excited. so bear with me lol

edit: I didn't get the desktop version fyi

But you're not a "newbie," are you? I thought you've been writing your own tracks for years. And presumably while doing that you've been making at least some of your own sounds, unless you were just reaching for presets every time?

Yeh you do raise a good point. I think it would be impossible after 6 years to really call myself a newie, but jumping into hardware I still have that feeling of "what am I getting myself into?".

I've seen people on this board who appear to be seasoned amateurs, who have made comments about themselves not being able to deal with virus programming. If you take a synth like sylenth or v-station, something simple to program, I can feel confident 99% of the time with what I'm doing, and I would equate that with something like a Nord (for what it takes experience wise)
If you take a synth like FM-8 or Massive, I know where to start, and I get the basics, but the endless modulating capabilies are where I label myself "newbie". I have no problems tweaking waveforms, envelopes, lfos and other basic programming, but when it comes to the more intricate modulating/routing capabilites I usually steer away from getting that deep into a preset.
And I got the feeling that was something Virus would have a lot of.

So I have a feeling learning the virus in depth is going to be quite a task compared to synths I normally use (sylenth/ablino/etc) but I won't really know till I sit down with it for a few weeks and get a feel for how the menus work.
Kinda hard to explain but I think that should sum up what I mean about the newbie thing..

Honestly I've NEVER understood in my life how ANYONE "knows" what they want.

Because I HAVE been listening to both the Nord and Virus and if you want me to be honest I want them both. Its extremely difficult to say "I want this one more because of blah blah". They both sound great imo so its hard to say.

And when I really look at a guy like Alanzo, someone who has prob owned every hardware synth known to man, and I think about how awfully confused he must be (guy gets a new synth every month lol) then I view the confusion I'm experiencing as completely normal.

And in that sense, maybe I will sell it on ebay in another 6 months, but it will still be apart of that life long learning process to discover what sound I'm after and what suits me best. And in that respect I think I made a smart decision. =]

congratz mate ill hope ull be happy with it :D
i dont think ull ever stop thinking about the nords though, i know i couldnt, and i just needed to have it and try it for myself, it was the only way to kill the urge for hardware to actualy buy and see what it could do for me. i really hope that u get more out of your TI than i did with all the hardware i tried. The Snow was probably a great decision because of USB/VST. Even though it has alot of functions im betting it is easy to program from your computer because of the TI-funciton. GOOD LUCK!
echosystm
You bought a Virus TI, but you don't have a proper soundcard? I'm going to take a stab in the dark and guess you don't have proper monitors either. :wtf:

As always, epic thread.
