lol echo that

as a rule of thumb, taking hardware advice from a noob that has had 1 hardware synth isn't always the greatest plan. But since the deal is done. Enjoy your virus.

As always, epic thread.

Thanks for having the courtesy not to say something rude. I do have proper monitors but no not a proper card. Its not a big deal to me because I was perfectly content w/out one.
If I need a proper sound card I can get one in a few more months.

For me I just want a different level of sound, I mean listen to this how can you not love that sound? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUif508d-gM

If I can do anything close on the snow I'd be perfectly happy. I've heard a ton with the snow and they all sound great, but alan did a great job with that one virus demo.

Well, ironically, upgrading your soundcard would probably make a bigger impact on your way to achieving that different level of sound ;). You'd be amazing how much better monitors sound once you get a proper soundcard to go with it.

With all due respecy Robby, my only question to you is do you know how to even program a synth? Especially after your whole mid-bass episode a few months ago...

i have fate in you, dont listen to the tech-geeks and haters, its all about the music and u really dont need a super soundcard in order to make a cool track. to make a perfect mixdown it might help with good soundcard and monitors but everything to its time. i think ull have a better chance than many here just because of your pure obsession with edm seems alot bigger than many others. talent? skill? that, its all about dedication, obsession, vision and creativeism. perfectionism can come later.

Nor do you need a Virus TI. Your post makes no sense.

Great choice dude. Promise you won't regret. Go over to Access Music's website and starting watching their tutorials. You can't become a member of the "club" until you get your unit and its serial #, but you can still go watch the videos, which i highly recommend. You won't be able to sleep until it arrives after watching them.

Again, great choice. You'll thank me later. I'm shocked by some of the responses I've read on here. The elitist attitudes couldn't be more apparent. You are new to the hardware world and you cannot go wrong with a Virus. It's sooooooo much easier to use and arguably sounds better. I don't know where people get off talking smacking. They know damn well the snow is what you should have gotten if you were to choose a synth. No idea why they won't say it.

This thread is funny though. I never intended to title it the opposite of what I actually got.

..well, you gotta start somewhere

i perfectly know that (and very well too). but when u want a synth its important to just get it out of your system, and only way to do that is to get it and find out yourself that u dont really need it, or in many cases find out that it helps u being more creative. if its smart or not doesnt matter, obsessions must be fed. it might turn out that he manage to make cool stuff with it and what else matter? my own experience is totaly diferent though, hardware totaly killed everything for me and was the most important leasson ive learned of all time. all desire for hardware is gonne (except for the electron machinedrum:eyespop: ), and i can finaly focus on music again instead of gear. worst thing that can happen for robby is that it doesnt work for him, and then its just to sell it. lesson learned, nothing more. if u never try , ull never learn either.
