It is comforting to know that Raul did not hold grudges....thank you Jonsun for telling me that. I really thought he hated me until his last day...but he was a forgiving guy...that makes me feel so much better. He will forever remain in my heart and memory.....I will never forget all those times I hung out with him....it was an every weekend thing....but I always had a blast with him....and those FLTA parties I went to and him playing his lil trance sets lol. And him listening to his laptop whenever house music would play.....and going to see pvd for the first time...he hated the set and left but since he was my ride he slept in his car and waited for me until pvd's set was over....all those little things he did I will forever be in debt....his friends really were everything to him.

It probably seems cliché to say someone was a good person after they die, but that is the honest truth about DA. It really is. He had his personal demons, as a lot of us do, but none of that ever took away from how he treated his friends and those close to him. He was a generous person. One who wouldn't hesitate to take the shirt off his back for those he loved.
And that alone speaks volumes.

I was talking to DA not too long ago (probably a month or so?) and he was still taking vicodin according to our conversation. I realize you're rattled about the whole thing, but I sincerely was making the suggestion to protect his family, not to be upsetting.
Raul used to confide in me often believe it or not. I have been friends with him for a long time, we partied together in Ontario, and I called the police and sent them to his house once when he threatened to commit suicide several years ago. So perhaps you were closest with him, but it doesn't mean that other people here didn't have a strong relationship with him as well.

If someone in my family committed suicide, I don't think reading the things he had written about how he was unhappy would make me feel any better. I think it would just make it worse.

You know what Mel, I recognize that you are hurting and upset and I am trying my best to be sensitive to that. With that being said, you certainly are being selfish and worrying more about yourself and not even considering that there are other people this has affected. You weren't his only friend and you aren't the only one hurting. Do you think maybe you could extend the same courtesy that people are trying to give you?
Not to mention that I highly doubt Raul would have appreciated his friends arguing, or people getting upset when they are trying to be helpful, whether you think it is or not.

Most of things I have mentioned are public TA knowledge. Not to mention that the personal details that explain why he committed suicide help people cope with the loss. Otherwise people are left asking "what happened" over and over again and they don't get closure. Sure, not everyone here really needs that, but I am not going to PM every single person who was close to him, because not surprisingly, there were a lot. Raul was quite comfortable being open about his life on here so I didn't feel that there was any need to tippy toe around things that he would have probably told everyone himself. I'm sorry if you that bothers you (and I mean that... once again, I am not here trying to upset you or anyone else).
Also, I am not saying I know more than his family - that's ridiculous. I am saying that his family is probably emotionally distraught and probably don't need to be shown the upsetting things that Raul said about his unhappiness. I don't see what is so absurd about that.
Anyway, obviously we're both emotionally charged about this and so I am just going to let it go.
