Hell yes! Where about do you live? Have you been to Blue Palms in Hollywood? The Stone and Lost Abbey brewmasters were there last week. I had so many Lost Abbeys!
Red Barn
Red Poppy
Gift Of The Magi
Carnevale
Framboise de Ambrosia
Veritas 007 |

i live in westchester but it's close enough to spend time all over the place. i still haven't been to the blue palms but i've been dying to go. i spend a lot of time at father's office...and if i'm really feeling adventurous i hit up naja's in redondo.
god damn man i've only ever tried red poppy out of that list. i wasn't really a fan - i like sours but i'm not a fan of the flemish/red ales. that's kinda what it is yeah?
that veritas 007 is a highly sought after beer isn't it??? kinda like a white whale? that's so awesome. |

Yeah Veritas is super rare, and pretty sour. I think most of the ones I had were sour. I got them on Sloe's recommendation after he had been to the Stone/Lost Abbey Sourfest :p
They were surprisingly good, I think the most sour I had had up until that point was a Ten Fiddy.
And FO is great! If I'm working Friday I usually hit that up for lunch. |

Oh hell yeah!!! An office burger with some pliny is pretty much the perfect lunch.
I got into sours maybe a bit over a year ago - i'm still not too experienced with them. First one I had was Russian River Temptation. I had no idea what to expect and it completely shattered my perception of beer in general. I bought 5 more later that day - something the beer guy at Whole Foods was a bit hesitant to let me do... I still have 2 in my closet, along with a bottle of their Consecration.
TenFidy is a good beer - I just have such a hard time picking up a 6 pack of cans and paying 15 bucks for it. Totally an image thing. Dale's is a favorite beer of mine but I rarely buy it, maybe for the same reason.
I'll try to remember to bring some brews to share on the 8th when you're playin at the standard! idk if the hotel will be ok with that but they don't exactly check your bags on the way in so i'll give it a go. |

lol yeah I think they do check your bags :(
That's awesome that you keep them like that, I don't have that kind of will power...Sloe does though. We like Russian River a lot too, I've never had the Consecration though.
Pliny...mmm...we went to this new bar a few months back, The Surly Goat, and on their opening day they had Pliny The Younger. Us and a handful of friends cleaned that place OUT. There was maybe 2 other people there also having Younger and the rest of the bar didn't get it lol |

ah damn. when i've went with girls they never get their purses checked though. at least not that i can remember.
it was so hard for me to start 'cellaring' beers at first. after trying consecration for the first time i decided to buy another to hold on to. one week later i drank it. happened once more. i think the 375ml of older viscosity i have is the 4th or 5th one to grace that shelf. discipline came eventually - the only real obstacle is my lack of a serious disposable income right now. it'll be nice when i'm a bit older and a working, all that good stuff, to really get a cellar going. (around the same time i plan on kicking the homebrewing thing into full swing ha)
i've been lucky enough to have PtY twice so far. I haven't kept up on it really but I get the feeling there are no kegs sittin' around anywhere waiting to be tapped at this point...
you go to the blue palms often? and as for FO, culver city or santa monica? i've been to both but prefer the one in culver city...it's just so much easier. |

I don't know how often, usually every other week. I was there quite a bit during the world cup.
For FO I go to Culver City, it's way closer to work. |

lol come on man don't hate! when it comes to american adjunct lagers i don't dislike budweiser. it's genuinely a very easy drinking beer. it doesn't do anything else for me- but sitting at home with 40s of it for dirt cheap isn't all that bad.
go ahead and name a widely distributed american adjunct that's better than bud. or just tell me they're all the same and it doesn't make a difference. and don't say pbr for christs sake--it tastes bad and it's just branding that makes you believe it's cool - it's no cooler than bud or coors, and tastes a good deal worse.
if i had a job i'd sit back with some nicely crafted west coast ipas every night of the week. take what i can get for now. most of the time i'm still drinkin good brews but that budweiser does it for me when i need help sleeping. |
no real beer drinkers would ever say anything good about bud
only way i'd drink a bud is if it was free, and more often than not, i'd turn it down |

again, i pose this question: name a better adjunct lager.
they're all pretty bad, and all quite similar. budweiser has a stomacheable taste and drinks easy. when you think about the it in the context of the adjunct lager style, budweiser is a good beer. |
