I'll give you that, they've shown way more heart than any team they've faced throughout this playoffs, ESPECIALLY the Devils...
To discount their Playoff run because they got there on a shootout win would be dumb... Flyers were always in the runnings for the the Playoffs, it was the Rangers who WOULD HAVE made the Playoffs had they won the shootout... As far as I'm concerned, Philly was always in that 7th or 8th spot, so osterzone, your point isn't really a good one.. |

This is coming from the person who said that the Regular Season doesn't mean and the Playoffs is the clean slate that shows what teams are really made of... I only hadda go to Page 4 of this thread to find it:

The Devils have finished in 2nd, 3rd (twice), and 4th in the four seasons following the lockout. And yet they have never made it past the second round. They haven't been a playoff threat in YEARS. |

Playoff seeding as in who is #1, #2, etc.
I'm talking about just getting into the playoffs in general. The Flyers got in on a missed shootout attempt they did NOTHING to earn. |

Here's what I said in the reply before:

But they still got in on a shootout attempt.
What do the Rangers making the playoffs have to do with this conversation? |

These are two of the worst teams I've ever seen make the Cup in recent memory.
Both goaltenders SUCK. Leighton looks like he doesn't know what planet he's on half the time, and Niemi has cowered behind his defense the entire series. And now since his defense sucked tonight, he got exposed big time.
A lot of players on both teams are also mailing it in. Kane had a big olympics and he hasn't done so far in the SCF. Where's Campbell? Toews? Sharp? Byfuglien loves to be in the center of attention but has he contributed to any goal yet?
I've also haven't been impressed with Carter or Gagne either. |
