Your definition of a perfect "trance" track (pg. 11)

if they sound so similar is because they copy the other style. It's very difficult to find a producer whose style stands apart from the others.

I like Blueman because really knows how to make a mixture of classical music and electronica, others are just copying him.

Ever heard of two guys called Geert Huinink and Alco Laamers?

Didn't heard about them, but i'm not saying that he invented this "style" there are a lot of tracks like Epos - Vivagio on the same style but he is arguably the best now and a lot of people are trying to make the same.

Yeah, I also wonder why they call them acid effects. Are we talking true acid feasts? Then it has to be evil as possible to count as "trance". Check out this delicious praline:

well i like it better than anything else in this thread so far. "progressive house" def does not come to my mind when i hear that track, the bpm is way higher and its got all this crazy going on that keeps it interesting for people with short attention spans. when i think of prog house i think of the majority of the global underground cds, not that track.

That's because you don't know much about progressive house. Space Shanty is at 135BPM, which is barely higher than many of the GU mixes. Leftfield were progressive house pioneers, their prog sound is the original progressive house. Global Underground is third-wave , nowhere near as interesting.

yea, i dont know much about prog house at 135bpm. average house bpm is 128bpm. average trance bpm is 134-137bpm. would be nice to find more tunes like space shanty though, i would ask for more like it but wouldnt want 135bpm prog house derailing a thread of trance that's also in that bpm range.
