I'm always for Nadal to win but not sure that's going to happen. I'd be comfortable seeing Andy Murray win his first major, he's very deserving and has had a great summer.
On the ladies side Dementieva needs to take advantage of this wide open draw. On the other hand if Venus won I'd be ecstatic but one never knows with her although Wozniacki would be a great new champion. I don't really care who wins, I just hope it's entertaining. |

Hopefully I'll make it out to at least one of the days...still trying to work things out w/ friends or whoever but yeah. Gotta love the open.
I'd like to see the Melzer-Federer match
//speaking of which - how can i tell when that match would take place. i see on the schedule that mens round 4 matches (when that match would, hypothetically, take place) occur sessions 15-18, over the 5th and 6th of the month. When should I get tix for? |

that would be good match to see. as for going i liked it, wish i went more when i was in nyc. although sometimes i prefer watching sports on tv, i find i get more distracted when i'm at sporting events.

yeah very true. i remember when i was at the open last year i saw melzer play (my austrian heritage drew me to his match since i had some down time). can't remember who he was playing - he lost but played so well and it was a really enjoyable match for me. |

| i don't think he can beat federer but this seems to be his best year reaching the semis at the french and round of 16 at wimbledon, overall should be interesting to watch. |

+1. our very own TA.
will be attending the friday night matches. 1st US Open for myself, so i'm pretty stoked about it. hope to see some good matches. :D
as for the tournament itself, i see the women's side to be very wide open with serena out. wouldn't be surprised to see a woman win her first major.
as for the men's side, i agree with the experts how there is federer, nadal, and murray then there's the field. i am rooting for murray to win his first major. |
