eh. you're right but not entirely, i think. i've personally voiced some things that could be considered complaints - but overall i was very happy with the event.
i'm very grateful to made for bringing such an event to new york and for everything that went right. the event just saw it's second year though and there's no doubt that there are kinks to be worked out.
w/r/t the lineup - yeah, of course i was a bit mehh about the trance line up but i was quite pleased with the tech side of things, and had the trance lineup been stronger i may very well have missed out on some of my favorite sets (e.g. paco osuna). i think the lineup was good, but i would not be even remotely surprised if it were better next year.
and w/r/t the lines getting in, and to piss, and so on and so forth - they're just minor kinks to be worked out. it's not worth being upset about, because why would that kinda upset you ?(it took me like 45 min to get in but i knew it was my own fault for showing up later than i wanted to) but i don't see why it's so bad to mention. the dust, for instance, was part of the experience for me. maybe made will listen tho and next year the red bull tent will be in the dustiest area because 1)most of the bandanas i saw were worn by hipsters 2)redbull is the smallest stage 3)kill off more hipsters.
so i guess that's the end of my anti-rant |

you are a whole different story my friend. lol. deep down inside you love 'cheesy' music. you just can't admit that sometimes, when you're by yourself, you throw on NSync's Tearin Up My heart and sing your brains out while staring into a full length mirror. LOLOLOLOL
I mean, do you really think it will be 400 next year for a 2 day pass? This year it was what, $107 if you bought them right when they came out? 2 days, 11/12 hours each day, with a line up that's going to be ridiculous every year is a steal. If they double the starting price, I couldn't complain. I could be annoyed but you have to think of it like this... They are paying a ton in booking fees, equipment rental, security, the insurance must be through the roof, sound people, lighting people, liquor license must be a ton of money too, whatever the cost to the county to rent the space for the weekend, clean up each night, sanitation, health/medical assistance and god knows what else.
I think they've earned the right to make a mighty profit off this event.
My guess is that ticket prices will start at $150 next year. And I suggest everyone buy them immediately instead of waiting until the last minute. |
lolol nah, i was just trying to say that nothing is perfect so i think anyone who is paying 100+ for ticks should have the rights to complain. |

Most amazing track I heard all weekend. Been scouring the net |

No, it wasn't Pink Trees, he opened with that. This track was about 3 or 4 tracks into his set and sounded like the nastiest acid-tech-house track ever to grace the earth.
Was definitely a groovin' tech track that had a slight buildup and then dropped the trippiest sound effect I've ever heard in an electronic tune. I NEED TO KNOW! |

Couldn't make it to Day 1 this year which sucked, but Day 2 was amazing. Opening up the Hillside Arena was just a ridiculous experience for me as a dj...the production quality of the event was just A+ all around, especially behind the scenes. I was treated like an A-lister Euro dj all day, which was really fun. :toothless
My favorite sets of the day were the threeway tag team in the Sunday School tent, and Moby on the main stage (wasn't expecting that much energy).
I was also impressed with a lot of the improvements / upgrades from last year. The increased food options were huge. Not to mention the beer selection as well. No real complaints. Already looking forward to next year. :) |

YOU ARE AN UNGRATEFUL
THEY BROUGHT A FESTIVAL TO NEW YORK. be thankful
/rant |
I don't feel like feeding the idiot anymore than I already did. But.. you didn't pay for my tickets, hotel, and other expenses. MADE didn't give tickets away for free either. So, I do reserve a right to bitch about ty crowd control, horrible schedule, and other that wasn't handled as well as last year.
The argument "ooh, they brought the festival" is ing weak. You don't go to mortons expecting a big mack, you don't buy a bmw, expecting a daewoo. I went to both 09 and 10 ez. My expectations were set by made itself. So you, , if you don't like my rightful indignation with just about anything I feel was wrong. I paid close to $1000 for the experience, so, I'm gonna bitch if I wanna. And if yhou don't like it, you can suck my balls, cunt! |

It is the essence of TA, see meanwhile... you are bitching about the bitching :p
This is the most opinionated website I've ever contributed to, and I actually like that about the site. Everyone is direct, honest (I hope), and straightforward about their thoughts (even at the expense of looking like s sometimes hehe). There are times when it is excessive and times when people are spot on and I couldn't have said it better myself.

Dude, that's why people use wallets. |
Yes, because it would have been so much better to loose your entire wallet instead ;) /sarcasm
I never bring my wallet to events, although I do carry it in my purse on an ongoing basis pretty much everywhere else. The way I figure it, there are a lot of important things in my wallet. Would I rather loose 1 card, bill, or ID vs. pretty much my entire identity? So in situations where my stuff can be misplaced or stolen I only carry the bare essentials.

You can complain all you want. You're obviously entitled to. You paid the money.
One thing I kind of think is a little funny though...you were making your "review" posts about the fetsival FROM the actual festival. Like, put the Blackberry down, and enjoy yourself. Maybe you would have had a better time if you weren't sitting there with your head down in your phone making TA, Facebook, and Twitter updates all day. |
