Like Eco said I thought Armin did a pretty good job. I mean he ended with his two outplayed tracks but you kinda gotta do that at a festival. When he played Rush Hour I got pretty excited not gonna lie, lol

Funkagenda said on his twitter that he saw him as he finished his set.

this would have been reason enough not to show up...

Armin Van Buuren - absolute highlight of the day. i thought Above & Beyond were great, but then Armin came on. i didn't have huge expectations but they were really blown away. i've seen him a good 9 times or so and this probably has to be my favorite. within 30 minutes of his intro, he was already 141BPM. that's what i call a trance set. minus 2 or 3 commercial tracks, his set was full of energy and very forward-thinking; my girlfriend is now a converted Armin fanatic, from being a former Tiesto-lover.

Duuude, best Armin set in a while :eyes: I thought it was gonna be a whole lot of vocal stuff. But then he kept on nailing these instrumentals. Couldn't stop dancing!

overall, trance ing sucks nowadays.. i'll most likely not go out for a while. promoters need to start bringing guys like akesson, adam foley, activa, manuel le saux etc guys who can actually produce and make your ears bleed :eyespop:

Aren't all those guys Trance producers? :conf:

Showed up a little late on day 2 so I missed Laidback Luke which i'm now regretting :( oh well.. Sander van Doorn was greaaaat! Stayed for a little bit of Chris Lake and then moved around from tent to tent for a bit. I caught the beginning of Victor which i enjoyed then decided to check out Wolfgang Gartner for a few. Wound up back at Sunday School for the duration of the night.. best decision ever haha. Victor closing was awesomeee but Digweed rocked my sockssss offf  he was the highlight of the weekend for me; dark, hard, spacey, groovy, everything. - loved it! I was exhausted but he kept me movinggg. I don't regret skipping out on Armin at all..

xpand3r- great vids! :)

Second day I enjoyed Sander the best. A&B were pretty good.
Cant stop listening to all the remixes of this song.

I have a bunch of other videos on my page if for some strange reason you were not at Electric Zoo this weekend.

also...does anyone know this song? I would really like to know...thanks in advance

lol wowwwww lots of complainers on this board! Everyone I knew had a FANTASTIC time! Glad I wasnt around some of you bitchezz! :stongue:

Thought Cosmic and A&B were ok, but didnt really care too much because I was hanging out with friends, dancing, drinking and laughing.

Sander was really strong, but had to split my time over to Marco Carola. I was uber pissed that I had to do half a set each of those two, because they both rocked it! LOVED what I heard!

David Sqillance et al were pretty bonkers as well. (finally learned how to say his name properly, too, from GHB). Would see all of them again!

Wandered over to Chris Lake at one point and he was laying down some proper beats. Never heard him before and he was decent :)

Armin: F*cking kill me. Was there for ~40 mins and did not take my hands out of the air for that entire 40 minutes. Sloooooooow and quiet and blah!! Refused to drop the beat: my hands were in perma-trance-pose for the longest time EVER. I did the unthinkable and left for Diggers, who I have never liked. Hope he picked it up, because I would sooner listen to my boyfriend sing karaoke than to listen to Armins first 40 minutes again.....What happened to my pre-2006 love? :( :( I miss that guy.......

Diggers: Have seen him twice and i really never liked the progressive side of him. But this time, he was totally dark and hard....way better than any other time I have heard him. Still not my #1 DJ ever, but it beats getting an arm cramp at Armin ;) ;)

*note: purchasing a set of Shake-weights in prep for the next Armin concert....... :nervous:

My quick review:

Got there early for Zack's set, which set the tone very very nicely for the day :) It was absolutely awesome that he played on the day, as he has obviously busted his ass to get there. Big ups, sir!

Caught D. Ramirez for a bit, then sorta bounced back and forth between the main stage and Hilltop. Funkagenda and Moby (man he has a LOT of energy, haha) stand out in my mind right now. The Sunday School tent was good, but I was sorta feeling some of the more pumping stuff going on at the other tents. Def a lot of solid tuneage, and the Squillace/Buttrich/Tanzzman combo was interesting to check out, but a lot of it was just a little lower energy than what I was looking for. Carola did seemed to be bringing it pretty hard as I was heading out though. I hated missing some of the heavyweights that were on later, but most of them come around often and I was just tired as hell by then.

Also, thanks to everyone for the well wishes and encouraging words as I was crutching it around ;)

Edit: And yes, I agree with Kelly. People should really stop bitching about every last thing musically. Instead, look at what an amazing day it was to be outside with tens of thousands of people listening to music that we would even CONSIDER listening to (ie, it wasn't some b.s. hip hop festival or the same old crap you hear on z100). The way that our scene is booming here in NYC is so refreshing, regardless of whether or not some of the artists on the lineup would make it into my crate or ipod.

I dunno what every is on about Armin's set. I've seen him probably 10+ times and his set Sunday night was pretty weak. Totally vanilla and predictable. Its always the same old story when he plays a festival (with possibly EDC being the exception, HOLY ). 45min of cheese to make the candy kids happy, then straight into W&W, Sean Tyas, Joint Operations Centre. He needs to stop ing posing every 5 seconds and get to mixing. I bet he hammed it up for a good hour this time. On the 50th jesus pose I had enough and went to digweed. If you want to see Armin really kill it, see him in a proper club doing an extended set. He rocked my world so hard in Miami 2 years ago that I was speechless. And then again in Vegas over memorial day. EZ set.....meh.

Was bouncin around alot, got to hear alot of diff types of music and some really good stuff from artists ive never heard live before. i already miss EZ :(
