Government (should) exist for and by the people and in a Republic the by part is the who the people elect.
These people do a job, and diplomacy is part of that. If the people you elect aren't doing what you feel is right then you try and elect someone else. If that fails then in the extreme cases (not, I am tea-party joe, I don't like democrats way) then a popular revolution is the result.
And yes Moongoose, I am bitter about this because I am an American, but so would you if all of Slovakia's diplomatic laundry was put out for the world to see.
Saluyamo, we'll see, but in terms of disrupting the world this has far more potential than a singular act of violent terrorism. |

I can honestly say that I couldn't care less if Slovakia's dirty laundry was put out. The reasons for that are many, but one of the main ones is that I'm not from Slovakia :p |

You do, if you do not like it, vote in people that will tell you everything. If you can't vote them in, then take the government by force. |
So, every time someone feels the government should do something in a different way, it's cool to overthrow it and seize the power? This sounds tricky for a country with more than 10 people!

No, its incredibly possible. This information was stolen from a secure network, not even connected to the civilian internet by someone who wished to do harm to US foreign relations. |
Which shows its vulnerability. Despite the name.

Also 9/11 was not prevented due to inter-agency conflicts and infighting within the US intelligence agencies who were unwilling to share information with each other. |
Then I wonder why they expanded it and are now rethinking their decisions.

Your example is horrible as well because it contradicts itself. You say that a country can not be secure because of the expanse of the communication systems available now, but you claim that its also easier for people to be more secretive somehow as well... That doesn't make sense, its less secret because people are able to do more secret things on it more easily... :conf: |
What? No, I'm saying that you cannot be both secure and secretive, it's an either/or sort of thing now  |

That is not what I said, go back and read my posts again.

This is not a problem with the source, its a problem with theinternet being a very fast and hard to shutdown point of leakage once it gets out of the secure area. Even now though its not even that problem, the way these are being released is the same way something like this would have been done 50 years ago, with a majority of the content being sent to newspapers and other media outlets first. So that point is fairly invalid.

What does that even have to do with what I said?

A secret is only a secret as long as it is secure. If the attacks on 9/11 were a secret than it was inherently secure. |
