Once again you are wrong. Journalists are not pedophiles. Stop reasoning with analogies please.

Because possession perpetuates the crime, you idiot.

It *might* perpetuate the crime, thats why it is illegal, not because there is any hard evidence that it does.

It is illegal because it MIGHT cause someone to do something bad to someone else.

You're a ing moron. Go get your aunt to make you a snack or something - clearly your blood sugar is low and affecting your reasoning abilities.

Wikileaks is not a news organization.

If your reasoning for not having CP is because its the product of a crime, then thats the same logic you can apply to wikileaks possessing documents that were illegal to be released.

Its the same thing. Illegal act, illegal documents, one is ok, but not the other because of some moral line. Where is that moral line? Murder on one side child molestation on the other.

Just admit it, you have a double standard on the freedom of information, its ok, its natural.

Well where would you have it? Information, so long as it's somehow informative, should always be free of consequence? Why does the line seem arbitrary to you?

This is extremely contradictory to your position on wikileaks. If your point is that child pornography as an accessory to another crime should be taboo, just as the dissemination of confidential government documents should be considered equally as taboo, you are, once more, failing to see that a government exists to serve its people's interests, not the other way around. It is obvious there is a substantial interest in the US populace as to just what our own government has to hide- would we be discussing it otherwise?

Here is what it really comes down to guys and gals. You are all naive, immature, idealistic people who's view on the world is not shaped by any sort of logical reason or understanding of the realities that occur all around you, but on this utopian idea of what should be.

You have a paranoid fear of all authority, especially authority that you do not fully understand. Worst of all is that your paranoid fear of government goes along with your active participation in the same government. If you vote than you partake, and from what I am reading here most of you do not understand what you are doing when you elect officials to represent you and your interests.

You chalk up the failure to secure elected officials that truly represent you either on conspiracy or a general perception that anyone who is in power is evil and not going to represent you. So instead of organizing and changing things from within for the better, you allow an organization to take the reigns, a single person whom you have no real clue as to what their ideals or agenda even are and then champion him like some sort of hero.

Its not only massively stupid but a flagrant disregard for your civic duty as citizens of any sovereign nation.

Not only does Julian Assange want to create panic and fear within government, his stated goal is that if governments do not become more open, but more closed then that is just as good because it will hurt the governments. If your government is hurting then so are you, because like it or not, they do actually provide many services to you that are essential and needed for your day to day security and happiness.

So wake up and really look at what is going on here, its not this awe inspiring moment of clarity and great truth (this information isn't even particularly interesting so far) but an attack on your government in an attempt to destabilize it and make it weaker so that who knows what will happen.

Where are the polls, when was the vote? Do you honestly think that people in this country would vote to give 250,000+ secret documents to a foreign national so he could expose them in the manner he sees fit? That is absurd Hal and you know it.

Yep, you're right, this whole topic is of no interest to anyone.

It is of interest to people, but the problem is that it shouldn't be allowed to be out.

Its fine if people in the US knew this information, because the general idea is that people in the US will have the best interests of the US in mind when further disseminating this information.

Luckily (or unluckily in this case) we live in a free society, with a free press, and freedom of speech. Sharing this information with the common man all of the sudden is sharing it with EVERYONE else in the world. You think that Iran, China, Russia, North Korea, and any other potential adversary or rival or competitor doesn't sit around and watch CNN or get the major US papers?

There is a reason information needs to be kept secret, if you can't understand that, then your knowledge of international politics and diplomacy is based in fantasy. Why do you think organizations like the CIA exist? You know that the CIA's first role was as an economic spy agency, to spy on the economies of our rivals and competitors right? You know why we have to spy? Because every other nation on the planet does the same thing, because we are all out for ourselves in the long run.
