I'd like to think that the majority of the population, do not want to see kids being molested. It is protecting the child's identity. They are the innocent victims of the crime. |

and what is the majority's take on having their governments international cables released? If the majority of the US doesn't want it... then?

Why do you want to live in a society where information is censored? That's what you should be asking yourself. Instead of running off on stupid tangents about child molestation.
I for one do not care that the Australian government has had things posted about them. It gives the general public (those who want to listen and not run off on witch hunts) some sense of what is going on. I am positive there are some American citizens who would want to be made aware of where their tax payer money is being spent : Let's pimp little boys, while searching for weapons of mass destruction |

So the act of possessing an image is a crime? If governments world wide said that possessing classified or secret documents is a crime then??
You claim that the act in wikileaks case is what should be punished, but not the people who take results or documentation of the act and spread it.
Shouldn't that be the case in child pornography? The information is not illegal, how is information illegal? |

I don't want to live in a society where things are censored. What wikileaks exposed was not things that were being censored lol. Its just taking stolen information and then exposing it to the world, stuff that has no relevence to you or me directly, but might in some tangent that does matter like a relation with a foreign government that decided to import xyz from us in exchange for us doing something nice for them. Thats how the world works, and guess what, sometimes our friends are treated better than our other friends, but they really don't need to know about that cause it ain't hurting them.
So this is a valid tangent because you guys want to live in a world where there is total freedom of information, the stuff that hurts people and the stuff that doesn't. So make a choice, either its all out there or you decide that there are some bounds that need to be respected for moral, ethical, and common sense purposes.
I've so far heard that CP is illegal cause it's illegal. |

I'm sorry, i elect government's to run the country and i pay taxes. Therefore it is relevant to my interest's when it involves my government directly. The Afghanistan war is relevant because there are Australian troops there. The Iraq war is exactly the same. You sit there and say that JA should be killed ect for releasing this information BUT it's not relevant to you. Make up your mind. |
