No. I live in Literalville, and I fully understand the strategy involved in knowing how strong the addiction to government handouts/benefits is and which way the voters will swing if increasing numbers of them are dependent on government crumbs. Take the issue of illegal immigrants soaking the out of our social service programs, costing states hundreds of billions of dollars... do you think the Democrats would be doing everything they could to get them amnesty if polling showed 51% of them would vote Republican? It's all about buying that vote, damn the consequences. If you want to believe it's really about altruism then I can't help you.
