btw, if Francis had the chance to talk to Mr Liebing and asked him about the sound system, it's not really name dropping since he talked to him about a current topic which is glued to this thread... That means Francis is happy about the new Funktion 1 sound system and he simply told a nice little story about his meeting with Liebing :)

i had the chance to discuss with liebing last july when bringing him back to the hotel, we talked about new sound technologies, the fact he was playing for ages and the effect on his hearing. Which lead us to talked about the "legendary sound" of berghain where he played not too long before coming to circus. Was quite cool to finally meet my idol. :) Thank you martin again !!! :)

no but obviously his hearing is affected being a dj and all for so long.

Circus's Main room is kind of small, and the ceilings are very low. There's not much sound space to 'fill'. The sound just as to be accurate, not loud. Extra renovations are also done according to the sound system, so it really all depends on how it fits with the acoustics of the room.
Then hopefully all DJs will be careful of volumes and quality.
Even if I think the sound of the Pioneer DJM 2000 is a much improvement on the 800, I still hope we will be able to use something a little 'fatter' so that the high notes are not so harsh on the ears.
I say bring back this baby and I'll play for free ;-)
