That's a bull copout for people wanting to justify their vindictiveness. If his wife genuinely knew nothing about what was going on and was as the OP contends "happily married" then telling her acomplished nothing but creating instability, pain, and unhappiness where it previously didn't exist. Moreover, it does this for no benefit... no one comes out better off. Telling his wife is a selfish and vindictive act; trying to fool oneself into believeing they did her a favour is just an attempt to avoid facing the consequence of their vengence. |
