I wish you guys would have talked to be about this Stereo trip (sic)!

I would have gone for sure....Stereo is THE venue to check out this caliber in terms of sound and lighting....

I'm glad you guys enjoyed it, the Toronto party was fun but as Code said, the venue could not match the sound of a real club.

I didn't know you had interest in coming! Hopefully Ricardo plays there again.

How was Calderone btw?

[color=ccff00]I tried to get into it, but after Ricardo's performance, it was really hard to enjoy. I found it too repetitive. Every single song felt like a banging track, and sounded similar. The place was packed and people seemed to be enjoying it, but that sound isn't really my thing anymore. I prefer the older Calderone sound of the mid-2000s (i.e. more tribal and less tech-house and techno.

I had a nap beforehand an got there at 4:30 and stayed until 7:30. I had full intention of staying all morning but I just couldn't get into it.

A Letter from Sneak:

There is no way for me to truly explain how upset I am that I missed the party on Saturday night, but I can explain what happened and how hard I tried to be there with all of you.

I flew to NYC on Friday night to play what I thought would be a quick, get in/get out, fun gig - The getting in was easy, the gig was fun, the getting out was pure hell! Saturday morning I went to La Guardia Airport ready to board the plane for a quick flight home to have an incredible night at a party I have personally been working on for months. When I got to the Airport I realized things weren't going to be so easy and was informed that an East Coast Weather Storm was creating mad delays and cancellations. After nearly 8 hours of waiting, I decided that the only way I would even have a chance to make it to Toronto would be to DRIVE, so I rented a car and hit the road. The roads were crazy but I tried to fight the storm. We made good time but once we hit the border at 4am we had more troubles, the harassing started and we were stuck there being questioned for close to 2 hours. At this point I knew I had been defeated and that I had missed the entire event.

I would like to thank everybody for their support and kind messages, I wish I could have been there to celebrate and am still in shock that I didn't make it. I promise to make it up to Toronto very soon. I know that Ricardo and Luciano did their very best to entertain Toronto and playing as a tag team all night must have been a treat. We have agreed to play together again soon, and the next time I WILL BE THERE.

I will be playing the upcoming Carnivale event with Carl Cox and can't wait to get down with Toronto. I missed you guys so much on Saturday!!

Much love and respect,

Sneak

Im surprised to see this event didnt get better reviews.

Firstly having a change in venue was great. the warehouse decor and lighting was pretty damn good. the sound was i guess what you would expect from a big room empty space feel. The opening dj was absolutely awful. sure your warming up to 2 big names but wow did he do a bad job. all i could hear for 40 mins was 'thud thud thud thud'.

The best news of the whole night was probably that Sneak wasnt going to play. it meant more time for both Luciano and Villalobos. Looking at the booth and seeing them both standing together nearly gave me a heart attack. back 2 back? WOW! :eyes: i nearly got another heart attack when Luciano turned the sound down 10 minutes in, i was thinking if this the end im going to kill the opening dj. Thankfully the sound was back within a couple of minutes

What happened for the next 4 hours was a lesson in set building. They both started out with the typical big room sound, a lot of hard stuff. After 30 mins Luciano changed the tempo with one of his trademark instrumental tracks, the place just went off. and then another, one with Spanish vocals.. After about an hour on the decks Villalobos decided to announce himself with Butch's quiet storm. What an absolute bomb! the entire room was stunned. Villalobos went on in the night with some massive builds. His dark eery sound was absolutely perfect match to Luciano's more upbeat tracks. I stood there in shock as to how well those two complimented each other. There would be a huuuge build from Villalobos and then a typical Cadenza style track from Luciano. and the room would go crazy. so many times i saw people just holding their heads with both hands in amazement. There was a track played by Villalobos where a woman would just scream and then bammmm, just drums! Did anybody id that? Luciano just dropped massive tracks throughout the night. He really killed that place!

For the most part Luciano had control on the decks, Villalobos came in doses of dynamite. Being in Toronto the entire set really was a treat. Very easily set of the year for me. Still
