What do you think of a lineup like this ? (pg. 4)

Also I think one way this could be pulled off is by going for a line up that is not all EDM.

Your right Adam, to be honest I am really not intersted in hearing any of those djs maybe except villalobos and luciano, and even that I know isn't going to amaze me, but it will be good. You have to kind of take what you get here, I doubt anybody is ever gonna book like Lucy or Ben or Marcel or any of the names u have in mind.

BeB had a fairly significant drop in attendance with Tiesto on there. I think that was pretty telling as the event we are discussing has its limits and I think that's what Jay was getting at.

The only thing is that I would love to bring back the experience ... but the best way to do so is now to go backwords

Build the hype around the event with a monster lineup, use the mainstream factor to reach as many people as possible for the first edition and then focus on the vibe for the following years

Let's build a hype, create something new and then shape it the way we want it :)

ok, I see what you're saying here. I remember you posting a similar point/vision years ago

FFS, people's horizon's will never be broadened if promoters keep feeding them the same stuff every year.

getting to know new names is for club nights. popping a few in would be fine, but really to drive ticket sales you need the acts that most people do know...at least for something this big.

tourists won't travel to see acts they don't know.

for an event of this size you would need that out of town dollar.

Backwards ... sorry lol

So pop in a few. Maya Jane Coles is a good start. But for example, what's the point of Carlo Lio? The guy already plays in Montreal like 4 times a year.

just look at osheaga this year Louis. day 1 eminem., 38 k, day 2 riskier bookings and less than 2000 people at the main stage for elvis Costello. catastrophe totale:p

ben was at stereo a few months ago, he fkn took us to school, weren't u there? i wouldn't be surprised if stereo and/or piknic (suitable talent for them) is trying for him & marcel. THAT would be ridiculous.

alright so we've figured out that it has to be indoors, has to involved other companies, and needs to go for the mass appeal to avoid the "rave" association thing
