We have Much Music and a number of written publications. Has anybody ever attempted to work with Much Music / Musique Plus?

if it were your 500k would you book: stimming, hernan cattaneo, gui boratto, misstress barbara?
Stimming - no, his music is not festival material
Hernan - no, he just played 3 gigs here in the last year
Gui Boratto - Wasn't he here recently? Anyway his appeal is beyond EDM and he has 3 albums under his belt so strong possibility that yes
Misstress Barbara - no
There you go:)
Marcus007
so who would you book then? I'm curious :)
And you guys gotta put Paris Hilton before Creator.. makes more sense (plus Martin can stare at her boobs)

Can't really be bothered to come up with a list, tbh, becasue I'd want to put some real time and consideration into it. And trust me I know there's a fine balance between personal passion and mass appeal.
I'd definitely book Nick Warren though. somebody ought to bring him back to Montreal before he retires. The man is getting old!

His avails are very limited and ALWAYS fall on bad weekends ...

Too much to quote the whole post, but STRONG Post Creator. Perfectly said and well written.
I like the idea and the fact that you’re gathering research prior and getting feedback to build. Not enough people do it. You’re right times have def. changed and a new wave has begun. It’s just a matter of someone willing to take intial risk of going for it and creating something new and different. With a good plan that is well executed. Def doable. 2 stages would be Solid.
I think the DJ Line up and the time slots they get should be taken into consideration with who the DJ is, what their strong points are, where they fit in the entire picture and what their contribution would be to the event. Some are awesome on the short side….others are better suited for long sets, where with every hour they build more and more. Reduce the amount of DJ’s; Keep it tighter. Maybe it works well with trance the hour slots…I really wouldn’t know for that style of music. Solid idea, especially during tourist times. Really just about when & where. The US dollar is going up so definitely brings a lot of people in. With that dollar going up though ? wouldn’t the booking fees increase with that as well with the exchange to pay DJ’s in US Funds

trance stage is a lil bit commercial imo
but with a festival of that scale your tryin to promote you need something to sell
as for the tech and house tent's looks pretty solid to me i would be there
as for a date i would suggest around the time of electric zoo in nyc
most of those artist's will be around then just a suggestion
as for location i would def say outdoor's with tent's
best of luck

piggybacking off other festivals work well for club bookings, etc, but if Louis wants to get ppl from NYC, Toronto, etc, they may not want to have the public have to choose between two festivals if they happen to be too close to each other. The public only has so much money to spend so if the festivals are too close then they will ultimately choose one over the other.
Maybe something stand alone that is not too too close to UMF or EZ, etc but should be on a long wknd or on a Saturday at least, maybe outside crappy weather months of Nov to March, imo. Maybe May long wknd for starters?
Otherwise, banding together to expand Black and Blue's reach and size is perhaps another idea...

louis stated examples in the first page of how montreal is ready for a big event like this...imo if you really wanna push the limit and give the city and people something thats never been done before then do it outdoor's imo would only make sense for say a good 20-30k people
the problem with outdoor festival's is the weather and timeing...alot of those dj's will be in europe over the summer
best bet is june or early sept before they all jet abroad
if they were to expand it on black and blue weekend i dont agree on holding the whole thing in the olympic stadium at once i say split it up into 2 days...
the main stage, tech stage and hipster stage for sat
trance stage, house stage and get another stage for sunday
just my opinion tho

Yeah, outdoor is a risk as he stated, early Sept would clash with EZ and LOL, late June is too close to US Independence wknd so maybe early June or May long wknd.
I would love to see outdoor and daytime too but not sure if that would work here...2011 was a good year for outdoor events but I can think of other years that were terrible for weather, such as 2010 imo.
