Well the problem is, IMO, is that with the exception of a few promoters, DJs tend to only make it to Montreal about 2-3 years after they become really hot. Look at Seb Leger for a example. I loved this guy back in 2007/2008, but it wasn't until this past summer that he finally got booked here, and now I'm really not into him anymore (the new Gabriel Ananda release on his label is nice though). There are countless examples. I think Misha's frustration stems from most promoters not attempting to push the envelope in any way, and just playing it safe. It leaves a lot of us who are really into this whole electronic dance music thing kinda feeling cold.

Luckily there are still promoters in Montreal who are doing it right **cough**Ostrich+Creator**cough** and several others. You have to admit though Misha, that there were some events in MTL this year that you really would have enjoyed, that you did not bother to even check out. And if your tastes have really become so narrow as to dislike anything not Stroboscopic Artefacts, Perc Trax, Prologue and the likes, then you probably shouldn't be complaining.

this is very constructive. You combine this with the gateway argument that Marcus posted in the other thread and you have a point right there.

I still think we need the odd Krinker around here to keep things lively :p

krinker would just bitch and moan about everything

Forget it. I gave up on constructiveness a long time ago.

What you want me to ing show respect for Dubfire, get out OF here hes a ing sellout. I am done here.

You want me to tell you something constructive ?

Everytime an artist that you liked was in town ... your goal was to get on free list or the cheapest possible with you and your friends

Good way to support the more underground talent eh ? Makes us wanna book these guys even more when everyone gets in for free

Same bookings come over and over because certain artists are looking to be in a certain market X amount of times in a year and guess what, they sell tickets so it ends up that promoters want to book them and make money out of it. Not your cup of tee, sure ... STAY OUT OF THE THREAD

1) show some respect instead of acting like a in kid
2) when one of the artists you like comes to town, buy a in ticket like everyone else and support instead of texting around on the night of the event to avoid paying for the show

Dubfire is a sellout because he packs club and has his own sound ?

write some points instead of throwing insults and non-sense bull at artists who actually made it in life ... unlike you

The guy makes more money in a weekend then what do make in a year ... By producing and playing music he enjoys ... Is he out of his mind or something ? lol

Maybe you hit a nerve ... but I'd say more that you actually hit a wall if you want to have a conversation about all these bookings ...

You don't need to reply, because everyone already knows here that you're gonna write something stupid

So just because I like the artist you want me to pay the 30 dollar ticket while every1 else gets in for free, cause the system is broken. And then you are going to tell me I am not supporting the aritst?

Valid argument?

You were the first ever person to put me on vip at circus and you made it seem very casual. Why should anybody not take that?

As for dubfire he was doing some insane productions back in 2007, but like most he has sold out by now and any of his recents sets from 6 month back sound like beatport top100 minimal chart.

Another one?

You know I'm right on pretty much everything I said .. the personal insults were to make you realize how much it sucks to hear comments that arent useful to the discussion

Now just take it like a man, admit that you have nothing else to add, turn around, stfu and walk away from the thread ... simple
