Was really contemplating starting a new thread about this because I think it's good to hear reviews of some Montreal New Year's Eve parties.
I'll start with a 15 min clip of Jaytech performing live at Circus Afterhours on NYE:
I really really enjoyed Jaytech's live set because it's so smooth and just a great beginning what was to come later that night with Wezz Devall and Leon Bolier.

Wezz and Leon were awesome, I dont know who I liked better. Heatbeat was kinda all over the place. Jaytech was decent, liked mentioned above very smooth.
From Friday I loved Ummet´s set but too bad he stopped early. Raneem was good though. Tydi imo sucked, really doesnt fit in at Circus either I don´t think. Set had no flow and was playing lots of cheesy stuff. I was mostly just resting while he played then Ummet/Raneem killed my legs.

I think I have to agree with your assessment of Tydi; although he did play some harder trance beats I just felt like there was no flow to his set and basically left me flat.
Here's a clip of Tydi's live performance:

I came in Friday probably halfway into Greg Downey, he was pretty decent too, or at least much better than TyDi, and hearing Beautiful Things was pretty cool too, he played some good trance. Then yeah like you and I said, Tydi switched it up to mainstream and cheesy vocal songs, no flow at all either, lol +even threw in a few jesus poses and hearts.
I would like to say a big thank you to Circus though. That place is one of my favourite places in Canada and for sure deserves the #1 spot, everytime I´m in MTL I make sure to go. This past year we went probably 6-7 times and only once did I not enjoy myself (and this was only because of the ing horrible DJing of Arty and boring set of Tritonal). Otherwise everytime Ive been I have had an amazing time, great sound system+set-up, great people, awesome bookings. Too bad they´re not in charge of Resolution lol.
