I'm just going by the guy in the video who said he's dropped it a million times already. I do worry about it's durability sometimes but in practice i really don't think it's that bad. I doubt a normal drop would even shatter the tank really, it's made from polypropylene, a very strong and flexible plastic. I do wish there was some sort of encasement for it though.
About the battery: Again the guy in the vid said you don't have to replace it at all really, but even if i eventually do i really don't think it's that big of a deal. Good rechargeable Batteries are quite costly as well.

I don't know why but I just never tried or owned an eGo style Mod. I went from disposable e-cigs(that were really expensive)to penstyle e-cigs from a company called www.ModernVapor.com. I bought their 902 Starter Kit a year ago and used it for a long time and at that time they didn't have the LUX Starter Kit which is an eGo style Mod. Then I became more involved in the scene and found that full on Mods where just my style. I really like your Tornado also, I never seen anyone have one like that one either. Full on Mods can use Tanks(all sizes), Cartomizers, Dual Coil Cartomizer(all sizes), (most full on Mods like most eGo style Mods come with the standard 510 Atomizer connection) but there are 306 Atomizers, 801 Atomizers which are usually really wide, long and are very round although there are 801 Atomizers that have 510 dimensions and there are also 901 Atomizers). 901 Atomizers have become my new favorite Atomizers for dripping just because you can buy drip shields for them that look über cool and in different colors and styles and they just add a lot style to your Mod, you can also use 901 Atomizers and 901 drip shields on eGo style Mods like which is what the caterogry the Tornado falls into. And how you try different Atomizers on a eGo style Mod or on a full on Mod or even certain penstyle e-cigs is with adaptors. You can buy a 510 to 306, 510 to 801, 510 to 901 and if your e-cig happens to have a 901 connection then you can buy 901 to 510 adaptors as well.

That's what i meant when i said the market is bloody confusing. :p
I'm happy with what i have right now and plan to stick with it for a while.

The main thing you want to do with your Tornado is understand that it is probably a 3.7 volt device so the lower the Ohm of the Atomizers or Cartomizer or even Dual Coil Cartomizers and Tanks is that you want to use a 1.3ohm or a 1.5ohm or even a 1.7ohm. It's best to get a 1.3ohm Atomizer,Cartomizer,Dual Coil Cartomizer, and Tank because a 1.3ohm will burn hotter on a 3.7 volt device than a 1.5ohm and a 1.7ohm will burn the least hot on a 3.7 volt device. But then again you will want to try all of them because you might not like your vapor has hot as some people. A 1.7ohm Atomizer will not have the hottest vape but it will be smooth and some people prefer that. I like both. I also have a High Voltage Mod, its 5 volt regulated. And when I smoke that it is because I want the vapor to be hot, it reminds me closer of the combustion the fire makes on a real cigarette but there is no combustion on e-cigs and there are many days when I just like a smooth (not to hot) vape full of flavor. There really is a lot of stuff out there right now. E-cigs and e-juice have come a long way and are getting better by the day.
| Interesting, i guess i'm stuck to 1.5 ohm with the tank i'm using which is fine right now since i haven't built a preference yet. It is rather hot really when compared to tobacco but I've gotten used to it.

Finally, the difference between PG and VG juice is flavor. PG juice offers the best flavor but doesn't produce as much vapor and IMO that is perfect for smoking in bars and going out. You still get the throat hit because the throat hit depends on the mg of Nicotine you choose your e-juice to be at and also how long of a draw you take when you puff on your e-cig. VG juice still offers flavor but not the same as PG but VG juice gives you a ton of vapor and a lot of people prefer that because it makes them feel like they are smoking a real cigarette or they just like the vapor. The vapor disappears a second or 2 slower with VG juice. A mixture of PG and VG juice gives you great flavor and great vapor. I have only ever tried the 50% PG with 50% VG mixture but I hear you can have all kind of different % of mixtures of PG with VG.
|
Thanks for clearing that up. :)
I guess i'll just have to find out what i prefer. I think i do enjoy lot's of vapor though because it's fun to play with in your mouth; Blow circles and the like. I do it all the time now.

And when you are out in public, you will at least have to explain one time a day(sometimes more)what you are smoking. It ranges from teenagers thinking it's a Bong with weed to old people asking why you are smoking in McDonalds. The thing is you inhale the Nicotine and what you are blowing out is water vapor, a little bit of the flavor you are smoking and the PG or VG and that is why I recommend smoking PG while out because the vapor you exhale is very light. | I dunno, it's going alright so far i guess.
It's just annoying to explain what it actually is in my native language. Using english terms like E-cig or vaping makes me sound like a tosser and 'vaping' translates rather awkwardly into what is basically a synonym for flatulence. |

| As long as your happy with what you have that is all that matters. I think one of my tanks cracked when I dropped it but then again it was kind of like a cheap disposable one that should only be used up to 5 times or something. Yeah, it is confusing and didn't mean to throw all my opinions on what you should be vaping, I tend to do that because I love full on Mods so much. And that is a :wtf: that vaping in your native language translates roughly to what you said. |

I'm a very impulsive buyer you see. And I don't usually do research on things until after i spent my cash on them, so sometimes it's a bit annoying to find out after the fact that you could have gotten something that's potentially better. But ah well.
Anyway, I've got the mixing stuff now. And I've also made my first mix now that i would consider on par with pre-mixed liquids. I completely ruined my first mix by using unthinned VG. And i used it to prime a new cartomizer as well which i had to ditch afterwards. Horrible burned taste. After that i decided to actually do some research. :p
I now use a 50/50 mix of PG and VG, the VG i mix with wodka (took quite a while to figure out how to get a good throat hit with low nicotine but alcohol works pretty well). Figuring out how much flavor to use is rather difficult though, it really differs per flavor and the same mixture rarely tastes the same each day. It takes a while to develop sometimes as well. some of my earlier mixtures use a lot of PG which helps (apparently store bought liquids use 80/20 PG and VG) but it really starts to taste like your inhaling lemonade if you go too far with it.
In any case, It's a lot of fun to do and i'm quite happy with the purchase, and with the rate i'm using it it seems like it's going to last me for absolutely ages. |

That sounds rad!! The best thing I like about what you are doing is making the making your own juices (from large bulk bottles), because that in itself(to me at least)would be the whole hobby part within my vaping world. Were as me, I buy from juice companies and that doesn't really take to much time to place one order per month so I find myself collecting Mods like Garbage Pale Kids. They can really vary in functionality but that really is no reason for me to have so many :o. and by most of the vaping forums I have a small collection in comparison.
But I always thought that buying the Nicotine liquid (in bulk) itself was for Vendors only. I always understood buying bottles of unflavored PG/VG juice with Nicotine already mixed in to your liking from a company ranging, maybe 60ml as the biggest bottle they offer then using DIY flavors but I figured why not just mix match the favors they are already selling if I want to taste something different. Sometimes if you come up with something really good a company will let you name the juice to your liking and they will feature it as a juice anyone can now buy in PG or VG and different Nicotine levels. But I never seen those large large bottle of pure PG/VG/Nicotine sold separately until you mentioned it. Is it a messy process, honestly? |

I've been looking around since you posted all that info and i too now have a bunch of different batteries and cartomizers i want to try out someday. But for now i think I've spend enough on it, it's supposed to save me money after all. :p
About the messiness: I dunno, There's some nasty chemicals involved but i really don't find it any worse the simply refilling my tank. The mixing itself is childishly simple to do and there are tools and applications for your computer/browser that instantly calculate how many drops you need of each ingredient after you fill in some data, like this one for instance: http://www.todmuller.com/ejuice/ejuice.php |

Month + few days smoke free (almost!!) w00t!
So, few days ago, I get offered a spliff laced with tobacco. Few hits later, I'm craving a smoke. The addiction is insanely strong...
I talked to my tailor, he told me that he went to hypnotist. He said 30 minutes later, he came out and never smoked again in 18 years and counting. Being around smoke makes him nauseous ever since. Dude used to smoke 2 packs a day.
:wtf:
I don't believe in hypnosis - but is that fo realz???? He wasn't pulling my chain - I know the guy for many years. Is it even possible? |

If you are seriously even thinking of Hypnosis then you might as well read the book MissPie Posted. That is basically the exact same thing, breaking down the mental cycle of smoking.
For me, I smoked as a chore, Vaping is a luxury. |

Yeah man just read the ing book. Wtf why would you watse your time and money on ing hypnosis?
It's been over a month for me and it feels like years since I've smoked. I still go outside with smokers when they smoke, and have no desire whatsoever. Fully repulsed by it and thankful I don't do it. God, the smell. *barf*
And I must say that hangovers are much better without ashtray lungs. |

I'm going to the bookstore today to pick this up, Jenny. Thanks for the recommendation. I hope I'll have the same success with it that you've had. :) |
