Citric, I'm glad your friends are relatively ok.
This is horrible. I actually heard multiple people say today that they're afraid to go see the movie in the theater now... and the media is only going to make it worse.
We've been slowly, but surely moving away from the "The world is dangerous, everybody stay inside" mentality that took hold for so many years after 9/11... and now something like this brings the fear back. :(
I can only imagine how the victims' families feel. Most of them were probably teenagers/college age considering it was a midnight screening. They just went to see a new movie... pretty much the most harmless thing someone that age can get themselves into. And they never came home. |
