Rest in peace, but even mobsters help out the community. |
If they pay for their protection services, that is. They don't help out the community, they bully it.

This is strictly christian theology though so to a non-christian, it sounds preposterous. |
Yes, it does, and no, it isn't :p |

Christ, just saw the video of his first court appearance, he looked like he hasn't slept a wink in months. That made me feel uneasy. :nervous: |
See, that's what I was thinking too -- very weird video of him in court. then again, he's been in jail since friday when he was apprehended....probably doesn't *fully* understand what is going on. I'm not saying he's doing the insanity plea - but I think it's just a lot to take in: 1) doing the act; and 2) being in jail. we still also have no idea what he said while in jail (if anything at all).
would hate to be his defense attourney. |

Sin is an inescapable trait handed down from the event that took place in the garden of eden.

From an introduction to a William Carlos Williams collection: "as he points to the poor red thing mewling behind plateglass, he says with professional, observant disbelief: "You mean you think that's full of Original Sin?"
I consider myself, on some basic level, a Catholic, but there are certain things, the idea of Original Sin among them, that I simply can't accept - that coupled with the notion that a Baptism can "wash away" that Original Sin. That being said, you're idea that "the shooter isn't any worse than a baby that came outta the womb" is ing retarded. So ing stupid, in fact, that it's seriously influenced my opinion of you and pretty much everything you say on these boards. Well done.

God is the ultimate judge though, and I have faith that all 12 victims went to paradise. |
Why? Do you know anything about them?
Faith ?
Cheers. |

There's no way people can be categorized as either good or bad because the truth is, everyone has a dark side. People are inherently evil because everyone has done something immoral at some point in their lives. Certain people are more publicized than others considering the severity of the crime committed, but the shooter isn't any worse than a baby that came outta the womb. Sin is an inescapable trait handed down from the event that took place in the garden of eden.

Headdesk.
Your posts are ate up with dumb, Matt, I'm sorry to say. |

| Matthew, stick to expressing ceaseless apology and sympathies as inexhaustible as they are inauthentic; it's the most your religion of choice is good for. |

Yeah, that's why pseudo-biblical misanthropy is utter bollocks. Or any misanthropy, for that matter. |

This is such a significantly perverse rationalization that registers with an indifference I'm a little shocked by. My honest pity to you, if you actually believe in it. |

I'm not sure what you mean by this- are you just saying that traditionally "Christian" chivalry is bollocks? Because of course that's true. |

True, I planned a few but never had the ill will to acquire such weapons much less go through with it but the thought/rage was there back when I was 25. |

Actually, it was a reference to my previous post: I believe Matt was talking about the pseudo-Christian belief that "people are evil".
I'm pretty confident I'd have done the same to protect ma petite. Specially because she's not exactly easy to shoot, so I'd get to duck AND cover both of us :D |
