| This guy I work with is a total gun nut. When I brought up the idea of limiting public access to assault weapons, he got all pissed off and said "That guy was a terrible shot, he should've killed way more people with those type of weapons". He then said, "What I want to know is why weren't there guards at the theater?". Apparently he thinks there should be armed guards at every public place rather than limit assault weapons. I spent the rest of the week absolutely shredding him with mockery, feeling he had given me full license with comments like that. I had a great time. |

| quote: | DENVER -- A group of 21 news organizations is asking a judge to reverse his order sealing court records in the case against James Holmes, the man accused of killing 12 people and injuring 58 in a Colorado movie theater.
The motion was filed Friday in Arapahoe County District Court.
Judge William Blair Sylvester issued an order July 20, the day of the shooting, to keep the documents secret without stating the reason. The news organizations say the order means even a complete list of court filings is kept secret. |

hello there. God wiped out the earth with a flood except for Noah's family and specific pairs of animals. I'm not sure if kittens and puppies are still around today, but if they are, I believe God saved them. |

no the cats he saved were the ones he didn't consider "Der Untermensch" . All the other kittens, dead. Now all god had to do was kill the humans. Animals had done nothing wrong. But instead, he goes ing crazy. Talk about over kill. But that is just one example among hundreds of how incompetent, sloppy and just twisted he is.
The bible is pretty much a smut script. |

Several victims died trying to protect their loved ones and friends during a midnight screening of “The Dark Knight Rises.” Authorities arrested the alleged shooter, James E. Holmes, 24, at the scene.

| quote: | John T. Larimer, 27
John Larimer had been in the United States Navy for just over a year when he died, officials said. He was a petty officer third class and had been stationed at Aurora’s Buckley Air Force Base since October. Larimer worked as a cryptologic technician in a unit from the U.S. Fleet Cyber Command/U.S. Tenth Fleet.
The Navy informed Larimer’s family of his death Friday, his parents said in a statement. His brother is working with the Navy to bring Larimer’s body home to Crystal Lake, Ill.
"I am incredibly saddened by the loss of Petty Officer John Larimer--he was an outstanding shipmate,” Larimer’s commanding officer, Cmdr. Jeffrey Jakuboski, said in a statement. “A valued member of our Navy team, he will be missed by all who knew him. My heart goes out to John's family, friends and loved ones, as well as to all victims of this horrible tragedy.” |
| quote: | Jesse Childress, 29, will be remembered as loyal and athletic, friends said Saturday as they gathered at a makeshift memorial across the street from the theater.
The U.S. Air Force reserves cyber systems operator died at a nearby hospital, officials said. Childress was single and had no children. He had a pet dog and family in the Los Angeles area.
Friends placed an Air Force flag at the foot of the memorial, where a teddy bear in a miniature uniform and small, folded blue-and-white flags rested.
"He was athletic, fun to be with--he really just wanted to serve," said Ashley Wasinger, 31, who served with Childress in the Air Force’s 310 Force Support Squadron. She sobbed as she recalled the last time she talked to Childress on Thursday.
"He talked about the movie," she said. "We've all been excited to go. He tried to talk me into going." |
Jesse E. Childress' unit, the 310th Force Support Squadron, is a part of the larger 310th Space Wing. Other Units of note in the wing (Whom Childress' squadron might support) include the 19th Space Operations Squadron, 6th Space Operations Squadron, 7th Space Operations Squadron, 8th Space Warning Squadron, 9th Space Operations Squadron and Detachment 1, 8th Space Warning Squadron.
John T. Larimer seems by all info to just be a young guy in the military...a 4th generation navy man just getting started. What is interesting is where he was working, and what information he might have seen or heard: This is the 10th Fleet's mission statement.
The mission of Fleet Cyber Command is to serve as central opeational authority for networks, cryptologic/signals intelligence, information operations, cyber, electronic warfare, and space capabilities in support of forces afloat and ashore; to direct Navy cyberspace operations globally to deter and defeat aggression and to ensure freedom of action to achieve military objectives in and through cyberspace; to organize and direct Navy cryptologic operations worldwide and support information operations and space planning and operations, as directed; to execute cyber missions as directed...
Rebecca Wingo was a (former?) Chinese Linguist for the Military. Her training was at the DLI in Monterrey, CA. www.linkedin.com...
Johnathan Blunt's military service specifics have been strangely absent from all reports...even when directly mentioned by the President. We have been told that he served three tours in the Persian Gulf and North Arabian Sea between 2004 and 2009 and that he wanted to/was in the process of reenlistment to become a Navy Seal. |

The logic behind the guy you work with baffles me. He seems to have a bit of hero worship to the point he felt more should have died. Sounds like someone who has a Big Brother idea but fails to see that once every place is fully guarded his gun toting self worth will be micro at best. He won't be against the grain as much so to speak. |

Lawful gun owners use their second amendment rights to stop crimes between 1.5 and 2.5 million times per year. You're more likely to die in a car accident than you are to gun violence and the 12k deaths per year to "gun violence" include suicides. |

And this has been said but when they are everywhere, your average gun jockey won't be needed unless he is not guarding a theater. But considering in said case that he felt more people should die with those kind of guns, I don't think he qualifies. |

somewhat silly use of statistics when you don't compare say gun deaths in relation to automobile deaths to Canada or any other country. I know it isn't the exact same climate but USA % of deaths from guns double that of Canada. There is no rational reason to not support gun control. The amendments as the name suggests are changes to the constitution, This sort of implies the constitution never was or never will be perfect. That tired old we need to defend this constitution makes about as much sense as the one that made white guys really ing awesome compared to black guys. Slavery was in the constitution or at least somehow left out. We changed it because it was the right thing to do.
on the other hand, the growing economic disparity and the notion that everyone in the country is packing makes for some yet to be seen excitement. USA could use a civil war. And i have not raped or pillaged in years. |

Go die in a ditch you walking, talking, pile of diarrhea. |

| Is it truly diarrhea if it piles, though? One would think it'd form more of a blob or a puddle. |

| Is a turd still a turd if it maintains a form, or is it now diarrhea? These are the questions for the ages, all this talk of guns. |
