| What's full of retard is your idea that because certain things may be explained through culture they consequently should happen. Just because one's life sucks and he/she has access to guns and ammunition doesn't mean it's right/ok/understandable/expected that they should go out and commit mass murder. |

Slow down cowboy. I merely stated what would be say 40 years ago a disturbing lack of surprise regarding this sort of tragedy. And although i made no correlation that was meant to be taken as some fact , there is something to be said when you see trends in certain societies, and not in others.
I suppose it is just a coincidence that when you put a bunch of poor people in an area, the increase in violence is just a coincidence. Only a retard would see a correlation ? And me not being surprised is merely a reflection of how i react which in itself is an indication that there is something different a least to me because i was surprised by columbine. My reaction is not some barometer on the health of a society. I find the mere idea that many are not so surprised in itself says a lot about a society. It is tragic, they are isolated to a point but there is a trend and it is really a question of when because it will happen again.
Teen suicide rates seem to be rising. More people are isolated and given the easy access to guns and the precedent set by other people that have done similar things, these events are tragic but not beyond the scope of comprehension or anticipation. These events are increasing in occurrence. It doesn't mean i understand why. I have theories and ideas which i don't think are stupid or retarded.

Fair enough. Let's just "anticipate" the worst out of everyone that is going through and/or has no friends, basically.
Events like these aren't beyond my comprehension either, but where would we be if we just accepted them as routine? That's just wrong.

certain climates bring out the worst of people. Bombings in northern ireland when the IRA where in full force were routine. Talk to anyone that has lived say near the border of palestine and ask them if the sound of a propelled grenade is a surprise. Is it a surprise that a bunch of islamic fundamentalist nutjobs who have been ed left right reverse cowgirl by the USA seem to want to blow up ?
There seems to be a common thread with all these individuals committing these crimes which are unique in that they are having a hard time finding an actual motive. Isolation, access to guns, psychiatric disorders that are not treated and bad skin regime. The USA does not provide adequate mental health care that goes beyond prescribing a pill the way other countries do, i think the increase in teen suicide says something about isolation and add to that a culture of violence, obsession with fame , a fledgeling economy that smears everyone with a sense of uncertainty especially young adults who are in a state of limbo , a rather inexistent social net and the tradition of having automatic assault rifles These events seem to be happening more often, and as isolated as they seem, the time in between each one seems to be smaller. It is becoming routine. |
