And in exceedingly less important news:
Fuel tanker truck explosion in Nigeria kills at least 95, injures 50 others

It is the unpredictability of these oil truck massacres that makes them so horrific. If a kid is shot as a bystander in a robbery, gang violence, civil war etc. it at least has some obvious causality behind it. Ordinary people do their level best to avoid the kind of situations where oil trucks are involved, but when people are killed at the premier of a film you might easily go see yourself, it hits home especially hard, and is bound to overshadow the innumerable other atrocious events that happen in the world. |
Actually, these people rushed towards the fuel tanker so they could steal the petrol. In hindsight (and with some education), I'm not sure approaching a pool of inflammable fluid carried by an explosion-powered engine is a good idea, so this is not exactly unpredictable :p |

| Well they didn't know it was going to crash until they got caught up in the moment. It could happen to any of us, if our lives were desperate holes of disparity caused by the avarice of the western world. |

Yeah, right, if something goes wrong with Africa or with Batman, then let's all blame the West!

why do these bat crazy ( lolz) always kill the wrong people. Why is it so ing hard to do this, but say on wallstreet. Or your local mega corporation headquarters. |
The answer is that the movie theater was right down the street from his house. As smart as he was, he was lazy. |

It's not really that unexpected. The shooting happened in a theater next to a mall...a mall where people have been shot before. |

Can someone explain to me why it is that, in gun control debates, people have been citing Switzerland more frequently as of late? Or have people always done this? "People have all kinds of weapons in their homes in Switzerland!" "Every household has to have a gun in Switzerland!"
Shows a fundamental lack of understanding of swiss gun policy and swiss culture, right? Some fookin ppl... |

I'm not at all for "banning" guns completely, but why on EARTH can regular citizens buy assault weapons?
ING WHY? |

I'd be more trustful of everyone owning guns in the US if they also had mandatory military service and fire arms training...
In fact this country would be a lot better off in a lot of ways if we had mandatory military and civil service after turning 18. |
