They shouldn't have overpacked it and should have shut down the bar after 4 am while there were cops around. Plain and simple. I wasn't taking a dig at blkmarket, if they rebook him at a new spot I'll be thrilled. I just want SOMEONE to book him. No need to throw your dirtiest "go to Pacha" insult at me ;)
blkmarket is getting plenty of business from me over the next month, I'm not going to drop my tickets over this or anything. |
I am saying in general, there were other people in the thread who complained also |

Did they think this was still 2001 and we were going to rave on speed pills until 10am on the ghetto? (jk)
On the plus side, got to catch some of Jeff Mills. |
So, its 10 years later, what's the change, why shouldn't we get a end-at-10AM set (only 11h if you come at the top, who does)? I for one would be very happy with that, and speed pills are for kids, you don't need them...
But honestly, if thing had gone as planned, 8AM or so, that would've been a solid 4 1/2 h set, nothing to sneeze at.
I second Brad on the Sasha we got: because he surely had planned to develop his thing for that time-framem, it beat his zoo set (liked the zoo set, well timed for the space he had).
@ l-540:
please fill me in on the Mills, how late did it go, how was it?
I had thought about doing same, but never bothered rsvp'ing, so didn't want to location troll, plus I figured by the time I'd get there, it would be about 6 or so. Guess I should've done it.
And for those of you calling this amateurish:
Ostgut-Ton months back, same venue, same promoter, at-times a similarly dense crowd (ca 3-4, just my very subjective IMHO, wiling to be corrected of course), went til 8:10 no problem, alcohol also being served way past 5AM.
So the major change is the Stasi.
What's with that cops-in-building thing anyway, that's the part really pissing me off. Should be more outrage here at that.
If all of that isn't enough to show the police state this once-free country has become, then maybe this will:

$50 presale and $70 door. This isn't some pop-up, late night, sketch (in a good way) party for the love of the scene. This party was big business. I'm grateful for BLKMarket, and things get ed up sometimes, hopefully something good comes out of this.
Honestly I agree with Aldi, ppl are actually cutting T&F quite a bit of slack, they are certainly respected here. |

It just wasn't that kind of party. It's a 'legal' venue, and they're supposed to stop serving at 4. Trust me, I'v been caught off gaurd myself when I've shown up at 2 to find the headliner already on. The loft parties are a different story. The blkmarket parties that go to 8 usually have the headliner ending between 6-7 btw.

Mills was awesome. He did a whole freestyle thing on the 909 for like 10 mintues and was also playing it along with the CDJs throughout the night. He was dressed up in a white lab coat with his back to the crowd and lights projected on and around him. It was pretty dope. I think it went a little after 8.

It's not unusual for Elec. Warehouse. It is kind of a bad neighborhood and they do a lot of all ages parties there with other promoters. They seem to have, and I think probably for their best interests, a working relationship with cops and give them easy access. I've been to other parties there were people were doing a lot more sketchy out in the open and the cops were really relaxed about it. It's like they're just kind of checking up, they've historically been really cool there. Not sure what sparked the problems this time. |

| I've bought tickets to blkmarket parties where the party is already shut down when I show up. It happens and you need to understand that when you buy tix. And are people really complaining about how late Sasha went on at? Weak. |

One of the girls that I know told me one of her friends paid $150 at 3am to get in....
Anyway, Blkmarket is indeed respected by a lot of us and I am not blaming them for this, rather then the venue itself and the whole stigma in that area (plus other warehouse parties that were catered towards the kiddie rave scene filled with ragers) |

yeah... at $10 i would say "bummer!" at $50 i would respectfully ask for my money back. This parties are not an investment. They didn't say"hey guys, chip in some money and let see if we can bring this guy in"
anyways, i am not going to keep bringing negative views in to this. |

yeah exactly. i wasn't expecting anything later than 2 am to be honest. it's not a complaint, just saying that fact, he got on later than recent history for sasha here (130 at pacha, tag team all night at love with three).
and seb, i think i might start bringing those walkers. at the least, it would give me some space on the floor :) |
