Thanks, and damn, so I should have done it after all.
How much did you have to pony up, I guess around 5:45-6?
AND: where was it held?
(just curious cause i want to stew some more for not having your initiative, but blame that on the sound-break at 4:20)

It was at a loft in Brooklyn. Don't expect us to tell you the exact location on a public board, we are protecting the promoters, venue and ourselves. RSVP next time even if you're not sure you'll make it. Also, respect the promoters' request and the venue's safety and do not post the address in any forum or social media.

Hahaha also you can add me getting really red and veins popping out on my dome and neck+ i can yell very loud when angry.

I used to get angry at work where I would punch the out of my desk and everything would fall. I have learned to be a more calm person.

So WAIT a minute:
its against all this ettiquette of mentioning a venue AFTER the fact?
How long does that apply, forever?

So if I refer to a show held in 10/2011 as having taken place at the Warehouse, that is bad etiquette?
That doesn't make ANY sense to me.

>>RSVP next time even if you're not sure you'll make it.

Why would I do that? Unless I have to believe that the event I will be attending is going to get shut down, which I wouldn't, why would I have a need to know where other stuff is happening?

Also, since ANYONE can RSVP, whether ticketed or not, how private is this info really?
Seeing the number of cops cruising around the lofts we all tend to know, they certainly are not unawares...
Of course the riff-raff wouldn't prepare in this way, but I am not talking about an ahead of time reveal, just a subsequent one...

Haven't done that, and if indeed you're not supposed to mention these places ever, will certainly abide by that, no problem for me.

Does that cover ALL tba's, or just the supposedly non-legit places?
An example would be the Cocoon residency on 9/2:
proper club, that itself gave out info about the event, even though it was a tba for the longest time!
I can't refer to that venue by name when mentioning the event?

Just doesn't make much sense retrospectively.
DOOMBOT
I take the TBA thing as the promoters trying to make sure that people who actually want to be there are the ones going and buying the tickets. Someone like me, for example, is going to purchase a ticket to see Digweed, regardless of where he is playing, because I'm a fan. Doesn't make sense if they are trying to prevent law enforcement from knowing because all one has to do is buy the ticket and then you'll figure out where the party is.

Actually, no, a ticket doesn't get you the venue, just the RSVP is all it takes, whether you have a ticket or not, or whether you're even planning on going.

In fact, follow the requests for venue info above from some ticket holders: somehow they didn't get the location, even though they (claim to) rsvp'd

Someone else got the collective opprobrium of the community for sharing, wasn't me, because I do know better, as see above.

now it would be a heck of a lot better if they dispensed with door tickets at all, so long as sold-out ahead of time, and then just inform ticket holders automatically, no "public" rsvp either.
tough for walk-ins, sold-out should mean sold-out.

It's better not to talk about location of parties. Things has happened in the past where posting locations here or talking about it has caused problems for the party.

Can cops really find out the locations of the parties? Yeah, absolutely. It's not hard to RSVP to these parties and get the location. But if it helps help at least a little bit, i'd say keep it that way.

There are lot of people that goes to these parties at these so called TBA locations. And most of them that I know of never post this info on forums, or facebook. There's nothing wrong with keeping parties private for people that actually wants to be there. Posting the party info here might just attract the wrong crowd and cause all sorts of trouble. For example, you might get some 18 year old "EDM" fan who has never been to a party like this and see the location here. Then imagine posting the adress to his 1000 friends on facebook. Then imagine 100 of those young kids showing up to the events and acting all dumb. This is a very likely scenario and I think this is what we are trying to prevent. I personally don't want the events that I go fill up with people I see at EZoo,Pacha nowadays.

In other news, I actually did attend this party.

I got there around 3am and was disappointed that I missed some of Sasha'a set but had no idea he would actually play that late. I didn't really think it would be a problem since BlkMarket has held events at that location before and there hasn't been any issues.

And I must say Sasha was ON POINT. He played for about an hour (if not little more) and his track selection was great. I couldn't really ID anything like you guys but I was having such a great time. We also had a good TA presence.

We left the club around 5:15 and went to see Jeff Mills (who was amazin g btw, i wish more of you TAers were there)

It was nice to meet you violethalo. See you at future events!

Aldi, thanks for not showing up, you weren't really missed

PS. Does anyone believe BlkMarket will do anything after this event? Cancel all the parties at that venue? Offer a makeup date or some sort of refund? I'm really hoping they come up with something because there were a lot of disappointed people that night/morning.

Mills was awesome. He did a whole freestyle thing on the 909 for like 10 mintues and was also playing it along with the CDJs throughout the night. He was dressed up in a white lab coat with his back to the crowd and lights projected on and around him. It was pretty dope. I think it went a little after 8.

Good to hear Mills is still doing stuff like this. I've always been a fan of what he's about. Never get a chance to make it to NY when he comes through.

They should have basic knowledge trivia at the door about the artists and/or something about their label(s) to filter out a few of the kids that don't belong at the event
