Andrew, that's mainly the problem with everyone who comes over now. they are mostly producers and have no idea how to dj. Dj ain't easy man.. keep a crowd entertain for 2-3 hrs.
There are no more real djs. Only producers who are forced to dj by label companies so they can milk the cow!

lol iam well aware of what these so called "dj's" do when they come here, thats why i dont support them
i go out and hear a dj who knows how to build a set,capture the crowd and take you on a journey

most of the times i go to hear the locals.. They are true djs. struggling to find the way to that perfect mix.
thats why techno and some of the house parties are still awesome. they are still being performed by djs that have been djing for a while : )

yea and they play stuff that no one really has an idea what is being played, it just sounds good and everyone gets into it lol

lol.. no. its the talent. they select stuff that are good. most of the trance djs now play stuff i don't know what they are, and they suck : )

I miss this aspect. There is such a humongous pool of songs out there, its a sin to hear a bunch of different DJ's play the same songs. I think I've heard six different DJ's in the last two months play The Box.
I think the new-age overall EDM crowd is find with this style of DJing and its ruined it for the people who expect what I/we like, to be taken on a journey through sound, to NOT know every song being played.
I feel like this is a broken record too, lol.

Everything from the staff to the crowd bleeds negativity. It's not a matter of "not having fun" or not having a good time, the venue and its staff can make you have a downright BAD night, no matter the music or artist you're seeing. Because they CAN, there's no one competing with Pacha right now.

How about not know just about most songs being played?
Just about never listen to any of this canned (too much else to listen to that way), so only get them from live exposure, way fun...

the crowd usually is not horrible, and when, it's more some individuals than all, but if you're off to the side, bearable.
Plus most events are free/cheap bef. midnight, and they don't vet. Others here don't like it, but putting up with the preening need-to-be-seen crowd at places like Provo / Le Bain/ Lavo, you name it, I find by far worse
