For an old timer like me it was pretty ing good
Hard bass lines - Seemed pretty fast paced.
Was laced with both old a new tracks
Heard Forbidden Fruit - Personal fav!
Lost in Berlin - Not sure why but I love this track
I Don't Deserve You - Cheesy sure but makes me think of my wife and all we have been through in 11 years.
New York City
TOOL
Home
It could have been me but for every pvd track he dropped it seemed he would just hit you with the basis of the track and then take the bass line to another level.
Not sure he could have kept it up for anymore than the two hours he hit the place with.
Outside of PvD I am not a big Trance or new style Electro guy but between Super 8 and Tab and PvD was really fun big room stuff
Love him or dislike him Paul's parties are always high high energy |

I had another blast last night.
I was on line before Pacha even opened. Once it opened at 10, I was a bit surprised to walk in and see a solo opener, wasn't sure who it was (I saw Euphoria's post so now that mystery is solved). He wasn't too bad, but I really wasn't paying much attention. I was downing sugar-free Redbull's trying to wake the up, haha.
Super8 & Tab
S8&T went on around 1130. I was very pleasantly surprised by their set. They definitely dropped some of their classics, but I think they avoided the 'producer set' moniker they've been given in the past. They really had a good flow through their set and I thought did a great job, especially since I hadn't seen them in about two years and I was worried they would go the trousey route. They did well and about 1255AM Pacha started setting up for PVD.
Paul Van Dyk
PVD. First off, let me say I've never had the chance to see the man in action before. Me and my buddy (who is a dj) were basically upstairs the whole night looking down into the booth. We we're waiting to see how they would setup PVD since my buddy knew his setup. It was just amazing to see the Pacha crew remove the CDJ's and pull up the entire wood shelf to reveal PVD's equipment. It was one of those "oh " moments for me, haha.
His set, I thought, was awesome. Came out hard, finished strong, and pretty much never let up. Lots of energy throughout his set. There was pretty much no cheese at all. Dropped some classics, some new stuff from Evolution, and I loved every minute of it. Paul played until about 300AM.
Tritonal
Pacha started to setup for Tritonal right after PVD finished and apparently they had some difficulty setting up the CDJs for them. Maybe it was an omen, because I honestly could only take about twenty minutes of them before I left. Between the repetitive, uninspired trouse sound to their annoying "Let me see your ing hands up"/ "What the s up New York" it was a total mood killer after the previous two acts.
Ended up grabbing my coat and catching a couple minutes of Jay Kinard in the basement and then left.
Overall, I had a great night. Glad to finally see PVD live. I wish he'd do another Central Park gig at some point, never got the chance to see one. :( |

Oh and as a side note...
Anyone who left Pacha and drove up the West Side Highway may have seen this around 430-500AM:

I was on my home after stopping at 53rd and 6th for some halal food after the PVD show and this car was in the leftmost two lanes. I pulled over to see if everyone was ok because I didn't see anyone around the car and there were no emergency vehicles around.
Long story short, I get out of the car dialing 911 and look into the car... no one home. My guess is someone stole the car, took it joyriding, wrecked it, and left it abandoned. They were nice enough to leave the hazards on, though the tail lights were darkened out.
Btw this picture is facing SOUTH on the NORTHbound lane. Both driver side tires were blown out (one was completely GONE) and the rims were partially erased. I'm guessing they lost control, wiped into the barrier, and skidded to a halt. |

Sober, Third eye...
Looks like when Tool is gonna be in the area next time, we should go to a concert. |

they were most likely drunk, got in an accident, went home and reported it as stolen the next day. makes more sense.
