The problem is there aren't a whole lot of underground Trance producers anymore. You have some insanely good progressive house guys who have done this and are now coming to the forefront (Maceo Plex), and some techno / tech-house guys are always innovating. But some of the Trance guys of late really just want to get played by Armin, and that definitely results in some conforming of the sound. Mind you I have nothing against Armin and his sound, but I was more content with "Trance" in 2009 when I could find a bunch of different variations.
Honestly the whole "genre" thing is getting pretty boring. I'm digging albums where people are experimenting again and listening to old Essential Mixes where the first 30 mins of a "trance" set was a mixture of breaks and ambient.
I disagree. I believe there are plenty out there, I just think these DJ's just are so scared that people who come to the shows will not like them if they they don't hear songs that don't know and as a result, will not get any future bookings.
We had that thread awhile back which linked to Markus Schulz' forum about how he's had to change his sound because bookings were dependent on radio plays. These big names who want to continue making the big money have to play what people want to hear and unfortunately, at least in my opinion, its not very original at times.
That's why I focus my outings now on the smaller parties and the lesser names. They still strike that balance between playing stuff you want to hear and stuff they want you to hear.

Anyone know how much tickets are?

I miss this aspect. There is such a humongous pool of songs out there, its a sin to hear a bunch of different DJ's play the same songs. I think I've heard six different DJ's in the last two months play The Box.
I think the new-age overall EDM crowd is find with this style of DJing and its ruined it for the people who expect what I/we like, to be taken on a journey through sound, to NOT know every song being played.
I feel like this is a broken record too, lol.
yup its TOTALLY like this right now. ugh...i cant count the amt of debates/arguments ive had with current fans of the scene who love this and um hell no i won't accept it. i started to hear the repetitions by djs a few yrs back (different shows within a 6 month period) and i got really annoyed by this. Why would i pay to hear different djs spin the SAME tracks in a set?? thats where my disinterest started...i never cared to hear the *popular stuff* but what was unique to each dj/producer. Sets definitely used to be magical back in the day. that is seriously lacking these days...theres only SO much untz untz and cheesy vocals i can take >.<

Super8 & tab i understand... but tritonal?? Major Trance duos? oh wells. Must be their amazing songs that every one, from all ages and all corners love?
Don't get me wrong.i enjoy them. i was even psyched when they fist emerged. i thought they would bring some great talents to the plate. but, meh!
So far this and only this has been the only song i can listen more then 3 times. But thats because moonbeam saved them : )
Tritonal are decent but i wouldnt consider them AMAZING. They are just 'typical' i suppose...I do consider them overexposed as a result of ASOT. I guess, good for them but they've lost my interest. Actually, after this yr i actually couldn't care less about the majority of artists whom played ASOT. but of course i still love Marcello :D
i do think its awesome that Super 8 and Tab will be playing :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: if PVD is confirmed to be playing, that'll most likely convince me to attend

PVD confirmed.
Pacha has him (and his Evolution Tour) on the website but no mention of Tritonal/S8&T?

many thanks for the tip!
don't usually buy for Pacha what with most things being free/$10 bef mid, but sometimes do, spinner depending.
This is one of those.
Just saw that inspiring 1h video (of PvD 10h set) by the two Sheffield guys from a decade ago. Even though that time is long gone, still a go...
T & S8 dates:
on tritonal's own website (tritonalmusic.com) they DO show 11/22 @ Pacha, but when you click the buy-tickets button, you get to the PvD clubtickets page.
Something must have been planned and dropped....
Songkick seems more up-to-date on their tour:

nothing local (other than Philly coming up)
BiG MiKE
Maybe they may do Pachita??

They were already confirmed before PvD was, the issue we are trying to shed light on is whether they are all playing in the main room. It's possible there is a separate event at Pachita which is where Tritonal played last time they were here. PvD's flyer has no mention of them either.

Might hit this up, I don't have a family anyway.
S8&t are good, and pvd, well, I don't know what he's into nowadays but I hope he plays a bit of Trancey-trance. Tritonal I don't even care.
