Ew food at clubs? There's enough ty drug farts to deal with, throw in some kebabs and other eats and just imagine the dance floor farts. I for one do not tolerate any sort of farting on the dance floor. I also dislike bad breath.

Ps - tomorrow at Moskito is going to be fun.
We're playing 10-1 in "the other room" for those interested :)

What's gonna happen to footwork? Seems like a direct competition?
What are your predictions?

At least the minus party had DJ's other than their usual big-names - don't think those guys have played in Toronto before (I could be wrong though)

Before the official opening, they had Beytone, Orphx and were supposed to have Peter Van Hossen - sadly he couldn't make it, but hopefully he gets a make up date.

Although I will agree, it would be nice to see more new/interesting bookings here than what we've seen at Footwork a dozen times over the past few years.

If they do a make up date with Peter Van Hossen and bring Dozzy and Cio D'or with him --- I'd be damn happy.

All matter will be addressed and I can assure you it will be brought up to all that are pitching in. Post it here publicly or PM me with suggestions. Constructive criticism please! What would you like to see? Hear? and want in a club this size with sound system?

The bouncer and this other Persian dude at the door were very rude for no reason. Pure douchebags! Maybe correct that for next time onwards!

I thought the place is good overall. Different for sure imo! The layout is very similar to silver dollar room, except it was 2-3 times the size. There is potential and chance that it will do well, if they get bookings right and management is ready to invest their return in the place! The sound was clear, chunky and hobo utilized it very well. Could have been a little more louder. It's a bigger venue and there's a lot of room to innovate.

Seconded on the incredibly rude bouncer part. I was out for a smoke(on Halloween mind you so maybe things have changed) with a friend, and when we tried to walk back in the bouncer wouldn't let me...until I pretty much grovelled, and apologized for not asking him to be let back in ect...WTF? I wasn't messed up, the area was clear, and I was in the smoking section with my wristband. Whatever I don't have a big ego, and I'm not going to get into a pissing contest with a bouncer, but kind of ridiculous and unnecessary.

And as far as 'new different' young promoters, I know Mansion is throwin g a party there on the 16th. As a younger person in the scene, I really enjoy they artists they bring in and the crowd that comes out.

Mansion rocks. They are one of the most promising new players in the dance music scene in Toronto.

Another point that I forgot to mention is that we as patrons of these venues also need to be more open to trying new sounds and artists. We cannot expect promoters and venues to bring in different DJs if the club is going to be half full.

Not everyone is as open minded as some of us, sadly. This type of thing can't be forced. I doubt it'll change in the near future..

Short review of Sneak's Bday @ Moskito:

Jeff Button played the best set of the night. Love hearing the stuff he plays when in a more chill atmosphere.

This was my 4th or 5th time seeing Josh Wink, and I finally saw what the fuss was about. Every other time he's been disappointing, but I always knew he was capable of a lot.

Moskito is a great club with great sound, but it is really big. There were a lot of people there tonight, but because of its size, it's difficult to make it seem full. It will be interesting to see if they draw enough people to break even on a weekly basis.

Also, the staff there were extremely friendly and helpful. Everyone from the bartenders to the security, I was very impressed. Friendly and helpful staff are a rarity at bars in this city and it is appreciated.
