I want to check out that Mark Farina party, but there's just soooo much going on in November

My planned party schedule until the end of November

Tonight - Gaiser, Barem, Pantha du Prince, Pedro @ Blkmrkt, NYC
Nov 10 - Marco Carola @ Footwork
Nov 17 - Mark Farina @ Moskito
Nov 23 - Araabmuzik & Baauer @ Hoxton
Dec 1 - Morales & Knuckles @ Stereo

:eyespop:

I think I may have to skip out on Farina lol, but it's been so long since I've seen him in a proper night time venue.

I think it's time to move back to Toronto

Great night on Fri. It was what we expected with ticket sales purchases prior to the event. A lot of things still need to be addressed, but for the first weekend I don't know if you can ask for more. The night ran smoothly and boy did the Dynacord sound nice. Off with the dust and if you didn't notice, you can have a perfectly clear conversation with the person next to you while still hearing the music.

With that said, if anyone would like to critique this, feel free. Any suggestions will help the club and management while being humbled by your refined sense of what a club should and could be. All matter will be addressed and I can assure you it will be brought up to all that are pitching in. Post it here publicly or PM me with suggestions. Constructive criticism please! What would you like to see? Hear? and want in a club this size with sound system?

I can honestly tell you there are some very very good bookings from today until the end of the year... ahem. Even the beginning of 2013 haha.

Anyway, hope those who attended on the Friday had a good time, as I for sure did.

Here we go!

I would love to see them make the elevated section not a vip section. Segregation takes away from the underground feel of any party in my opinion. There's probably no chance the club would ever consider getting rid of bottle service but at least let all customers allowed in all areas of the club.. except behind the dj booth. This area should be restricted to staff and talent only. Booth parties are lame and everyone on the dance floor resents the divas up there trying to be seen.

Staying open later than 5AM would be great too but I can see that it makes sense to start off closing at 5 and work towards later nights as the club builds it's name. With Guv a borderline write off, Toronto doesn't have any clubs open later than 5AM other than zone. If Montreal can pull off having multiple clubs open till 10/11am, I think Toronto can pull off a couple being open till 7 or 8.

I really liked how there were no moving lights / club was really dark. That really gave it an underground feel. I hope that wasn't just because they club hasn't finished the lighting yet. Less is more.

I saw there was no guestlist for the m-nus event. Not sure if this will be the case for every event but having no guestlist is really key (something only I've ever seen sundays @ zone). Treat everyone the same (just like my first point for all access). 95% of people can get on guestlist anyways. Another idea for cover that I saw a lot in the UK is having a reduced cover before midnight then a reduced cover after 3am since you're only getting the last few hours of the party.

Really excited to see what else this place has in store. Friday was awesome and can definitely see myself logging a LOT of hours here!

This is a sweet idea! But I can also see from a club owner's position why they wouldn't do this...

Couldn't agree more, very cool inclusive policy. But, when you get in and see this...

It seems kinda contradictory.

It'd also be great if they considered seeking out a hot dog/food vendor for right out front near the smoking area so anyone going for fresh air can easily grab a bite. Food = more energy = longer lasting crowd. Or tell Sneaky Dee's to have a rush take out service that is open late :p

Well, yeah. They think they'll make more money but it would attract more people if it cost them less to come from another party that shuts down at 3am (industry people or party hoppers). I'm sure they wouldn't do it in the UK if they thought they'd make more money just leaving cover at same price from midnight onwards. Bonus for attracting more people - you can keep the party going longer (or at least a bigger crowd till close) and also make more money on selling water or snacks if they ever considered selling food themselves.

I think I've found my new place of residence. Also, Art Department AND Lee Floss? Same night?! That's probably one of the biggest bookings of the year. :eyes:

I've heard very very good things about Moskito so far.
