Damtrox.....think about what we would also do if everyone were straight in this world.... it would be drastically overpopulated....and more people would die from starvation and disease becuase of the overwheming need to hospitalise them...
I ve read in class once of a bio-socialist theory where homosexuality is natural in most species ,,,,becuase its a way to control population growth....there is a certain percentage of a species that are born homosexual in order for there to be a stable growth in population.. so that extinction from depleated resources with in a given time is prevented.
This could be part of our evolutionary survival as a species. |

interesting, i didnt say i am totally against gay people, but i just dont agree with what they do.
However, population control methods are beyond just sexuality, it includes diseases and genetic mutations.
If humans would let nature take its course, people with AIDS and terminal genetic disorders would die more often leaving healthy individuals to live.
i thought people are born straight and turn to the other side later because of influence |

its partly... and in most cases...mostly genetic....There have been studies on homosexual men and their brains....they are different in some aspect to heterosexual males....but not better or worse... just different
And i do not think people "choose" to become gay....that is ridiculous....they are basically choosing to be ridiculed.. mad fun of .. and be misunderstood for the rest of their lives. |

First of all, since there are homosexual animals in many species, I don't see how you can propose this.
Second of all, since when is being unnatural such a bad thing? Most of the field of medicine is unnatural, so should we not provide synthetic medications to sick people? The internet is pretty much an unnatural phenomenon, so does that make it bad for us to log on and post on these forums?
Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but what you are saying makes no sense to me. |

| one time i saw on tv about these 2 ghetto ass mexican kids who got adopted by this gay couple and then the interviewer was like what do you think about not havning a mom? and they were like i think thats sad, as if they're dissapointed...be happy you were adopted dumbasses |

You make it sound as though it's the straight team vs the gay team in the hockey championship of the world to determine species dominance this evening on CBC or something... :rolleyes:
Going further now though...
Arbiter brought up the gay animals in other species factoid again for me, which I appreciate, as I also said earlier, being gay is unusual, but it's not unnatural, big difference there.
The population control thing is a popular theory, I've even read studies suggesting that the archetypal "gay uncle" came about to help us when we were in tribal groups, to ease some of the burden of the straight people in the child rearing. Who knows, it's really conjecture, the main point being that gayness occurs *many* places in nature...whether it be for population control or whatever the fact is that it exists.
Though the point of it all was lost on me I have to commment on the what if 110% of the population was gay comment...well, what if? It's not as though technology isn't at the point where women can be artificially inseminated you know...wow, imagine, if you wanted a kid you'd have to purposefully go out of your way to do so. Sounds like an effective population control method to me.
I think environment *does* play a certain role in shaping people, and can be a *factor* in gayness, but to suggest that people willfully choose the orientation, or that we're attempting to "turn people" is utterly ridiculous.
Shocking news: Being gay isn't a big party.
Most of the people you fall in love with have no capacity to love you back.
A lot of the gay people you meet are over the top flamers who are interested in nothing but the "gay culture" (aka: the stereotypical things people tend to think of when they think of gays, theatre, cooking, etc, etc, etc)
You have to deal with religious people and bigots who judge you for something that you had no conscious choice in.
Nice girls, who you really like *as friends* end up being hurt when they come onto you and you reject them.
"Friends" suddenly decide that you're a ing leper.
Other friends understand, but are still uncomfortable around you.
Trust me mate, I wouldn't wish this on anybody, it's a e state of affairs.
Whenever I hear someone going on and on about how "unnatural" gay people are I say to myself "There's a person who's never had a friend who was gay..."
Surprise: We're just like everyone else, we're not going to rape you, we're not going to steal your children, we're just going to try to make do and enjoy our lives, just like everyone else is.
It doesn't seem too much to ask to just let us go on and do that without piling harassment and ignorance on us every step of the way. |

Hmm...
It's obvious a lot of you are not confident in your sexuality that you have to exude some 'overt' straightness in order to compensate for what you feel is a threat to your existance...
Who cares if someone is gay? You guys (well, most of you ;) ) are crazy for the lesbian/bisexual gals but then at the same time bash the guys - where's the logic in that?
Accept reality for what it is - if it was really 'unnatural' then why is it so many gays have common 'traits' (voice/mannerisms/etc) that you notice in order for you to assume they're gay!? - those aren't exactly things you 'learn' or 'pick up' along the way - it's in the genes.
What if your favorite trance tune was produced by some gay guy? Would you downplay his talents because of his sexuality? |

I bet quite a bit of people would. Say if Armin van Buuren turned out to be gay (which he is not)...I bet some people would start to dislike him for that reason. |
