It upset me also - having the dog give the whole "the closer you get, the more you are afraid you won't get there" talk - and then getting so close, only to have that go down. But, having the show get that kind of emotional response out of me is one of the reasons why I like it. The episode left me a little speechless for a few minutes after.
I have the boxset of books - but part of me doesn't want to start reading them yet because I'm ejoying the show enough that I don't want to spoil it. |

exactly why i haven't read book 3 yet.
If I had known that the "Red Wedding" was coming, it wouldn't have had the same impact.
Damnit between Game of Thrones and the end of Breaking Bad season 4 which i just finished, it has been a rocking few days of TV shows. |

They need to start shooting the next seasons cuz the child actors seem to be getting old. |
another concern is what would happen if something were to happen to George Martin and he is not able to finish books 6 + 7
?
i couldn't sleep after watching the last episode. so intense.. i love this show! |

we are living in an age of golden television. i don't remember this many high quality shows being produced even a decade ago
GoT, Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Walking Dead... we are in an age of great serialized entertainment! |

| Anyone who complains that things aren't as good as they used to be clearly isn't talking about TV programming. It's been on fire for years now. |

I can't fathom the reasoning "I don't wanna read the books because they will spoil show"...no they won't. They're the original material. They won't spoil it but make it better because you'll get so much more story, and understanding out of them. There's been some minor and major changes, some which are good, but some which made me almost give up on the show (eg. House of the Undying in season). It's almost backwards logic, no offense.
I'm glad people were shocked by the Red Wedding. I accidentally spoiled their deaths myself, before getting to book 3, and I still needed to put the book down after that chapter, which was way more powerful than it was in the show. Now viewers understand how the book readers felt. Unfortunately, there's still another 500 pages left of book 3 but only 1 episode left, so it won't conclude the same way. The rest will happen in season 4. And there's some wicked things in store (and some terrible things too lol). |

I find it Amazing when people are excited about TV shows, that are based on BOOKS, with Source material out at least a decade if not more.
Worse, these shows are like Anime, where its Filler Filler Something Happens, Filler Filler Season Finale.
The ONLY show worth watching is Breaking Bad. Period. Rest is nothing to get excited about, unless you have never read a good book/series. |

| How many shows/movies are based off books and past events. with that logic you can't watch almost anything lol. No one should watch a war movie because its not as entertaining as hiding in a bush and seeing it first hand ? Haven't really read many books where there is a something significant happening every scene. IMO everyone paints their own picture when reading a book, it's cool to see someone else's take on it on TV. |
