Yeah I liked Belwas too. Not sure what happened with the blue hair and beard, maybe they didn't want to make it too.. cheesy, I guess? Not sure if that's the word I'm looking for but for the most part all of the characters so far have been pretty "normal" looking so I guess they didn't want to throw a curveball at the audience who haven't read the books.

Can't wait for the final 2 episodes. storms a comin'. I really thought episode 8 was going to have a bit more in it but it was good nonetheless.

I can't wait for the next 2 episodes. storms a comin is an understatement. I just hope they don't it up.

They definitely did not pull any punches with this episode.

The best episode of this season I do declare. Maybe next episode will take that title though... ;)

oh man i sat anxiously waiting for that final scene the whole episode. i knew what was coming but still i was ready to pull my hair out. sucks if you're a stark fan though =p

i enjoyed the episode start to finish but i dont think next weeks will top this one as far as i can remember.

KKKK i dont want to wait a year to watch the next season ;(

It was good due to the shock and awe of what transpired, but I can't bring myself to saying this was the episode through and through. Episodes 3 and 4 were better IMO

And ya, what sucks is that this season is only about half of the 3rd book.

not holding my breath for ep 10 - it's just gonna be a usual wrap-up

my friend foolishly googled some crazy spoilers for the next season - she said something along the lines of that this (I guess the whole Red Wedding story-line) isn't over yet :eyespop:

I fell right off the couch at the end. Did not expect that at all!

easily one of the most stunning episodes of any tv show of all time.

Was just reading a review on Independent and this perfectly describes the whole mood:

quote:
The tone was played at just the right pitch and the audience was lulled into a false sense of security, particularly through the use of humour in the episode. There were small moments of comedy across all of the strands, such as Arya (Maisie Williams) knocking out an old man or Bran (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) and Rickon (Art Parkinson) discussing wilding raids much to the chagrin of Osha (Natalia Tena).

Well it is...but there's of course the aftermath. I just really hope they move up 1 of 2 scenes from the end of the 3rd book into the season finale. The audience needs something to hold on to after this. Reading Twitter, there's A LOT of people calling for the deaths of HBO, the producers, the writer, all the Lannisters, Freys, etc.

Another scene that was gut wrenching in it's own way was how close Jon and Bran were to each other. That drove me nuts in the books, especially after everything that's happened to the Starks. I was practically on my knees begging for them to be reunited. Great to see Bran finally getting a handle on his abilities though, and Orell warging into his eagle as he dies was a welcome inclusion.
FunkyCrew
aww that means they wont be reunited for a while in the show too, damn!

loved how much stronger Bran is getting! he controlled both wolves
