Serial Killer
have you seen the type of people who work in the fast food places.

Most of them prob have no prospects for the future... they're ok with being what they've achieved. If they get $15 an hour, they'll work there forever thus denying the opportunity for the next wave of PART-TIME workers. plus they have the nastiest attitude and rarely get the order correct.

I would argue it's more important to focus on avenues of these people moving on to bigger and better things, not making it more attractive to stay. Those are meant to be part time jobs. You don't hear about people in their 60s retiring and living on their McDonalds pension.

What is the rationale behind what is "meant" to be a part-time job and what isn't? It seems to me a mere judgment call that people are all too eager to cast shade on when they want to feel superior.

Somebody has to do these jobs and of their own volition- however unskilled or undeserving of anything you feel they might be, they're still being undercompensated for their time, and that hurts everyone.

I don't think they're deserving of that much but that's besides the point. I feel service industry jobs like that aren't meant to be full time and long time jobs. That's why I feel like the goal shouldn't be to get paid more, the goal should be not working there anymore.

As someone already pointed out, there's plenty of high school and college kids willing to do that work just to get some spending money. I don't think there's any lack of people willing to fill those roles.

That's totally true in the short term, but like I said, give it one more generation. After a few more market bursts and the exponent outsourcing of skilled labour tends towards equilibrium, the standard for growth is going to radically shift toward specialization. It's precisely why the US needs to take a more unilateral approach toward overhauling immigration, education, and healthcare for all, much less a big gulp of the socialism punch when it comes to taxation and standardized compensation.

Or we'll all be in Kim-Jong work camps. One of those.

Too bad you mothering **** is a government employee. You have all the , workers should have.
