| The whole point is that people can't realistically survive and raise families on minimum wage. Why on earth would they want to keep working there? |

Some people are not able to advance themselves. All they CAN do is work at McDonalds or WalMart. - bs. if there is a will there is a way
Educate themselves? That requires money. Or loans that they won't even be able to pay back. - why not ?
It's not like these people making $8 an hour can afford to go to college - they can.. it's called school loans. they allow you to get a better job to make more $$$ and pay off loans.
They are stuck because they can barely even afford to survive, let alone invest in their futures.- again.. this is a job for a teen/student..not a career choice.
It's pretty sick that you type cast every person on minimum wage as hood for nothing freeloaders just living off the system who are perfectly content doing so. -- not everyone.. only the ones that deserve to be pointed out |
all excuses...

they shouldn't want to work there. and this should be more than enough to motivate them to be and to do more |

| Funny you talk about education, when clearly you could use a lot more of it. The problems of the lower socioeconomic classes are much more broad and complex than what you understand. |

we just have to agree to disagree. |
You realize even inexpensive colleges can cost 20-25k a year right? So if they can barely survive, how do you expect them to have the added expense of paying back loans, when a college degree doesn't even guarantee a well paying job?
My wife's student loans are $400 a month, and that's only from one year of school before she transferred to a state school. After expenses, etc. she has about 2-300 dollars left over each month, and she makes a little over $15 an hour. We also don't have children. Try feeling a bit of empathy for people who aren't as well off as you, because you're making yourself look like an uninformed and arrogant . |

i do. i went through it. and American Education Services that provided me with a loan at a fixed 2.5% rate, also gives you an opportunity to not make any payment through deferral of the loan to get on your feet. |

Most students have private loans as well, which can be anywhere from 5-8%. I deal with people managing student loans in their 30s everyday. They can do it, but that's because they're making a good living. Not everyone is capable. "Where there's a will there's a way" is bull and just something people like you say to make yourself feel better than others. |

that's because they studied and worked for it. that's why they can do it.

| I do feel good about my accomplishments. I also feel empathy for people who aren't as fortunate. I don't feel that I'm a better person than them because I have a career and way more money. If you measure yourself by how much money is in your bank account, you come off like a huge tool, which you do. You also clearly don't understand the intricacies behind socioeconomics. You think poor=lazy, when there's no doubt in my mind that a lot of the poor in this country work way harder than you do. |

You know what makes ME feel good?
Today on the highway some douchetard was in the passing lane going 120. I rode his ass a little bit, thinking he might actually clue in that he should get out of the way, but instead he brake checked me. So as I pulled up beside him to pass in the outside ing lane, I rolled my window all the way down, honked my horn, and extended my arm out the window to flip him the bird. Goddamn it felt amazing.
The guy behind me did the exact same thing, LOL. |

Whoa. Y'all have some fast highways up there in Canada. |

| The posted limit is 100km/hr. Most people drive about 120-130km/hr, so 120 in the lane that should be left open for passing is definitely too slow. |
